      </table><br><p class="para_topic">Once you choose <b class="uiTerm">OK</b> from the <b class="uiTerm">Specify Item</b> dialog box, the <b class="uiTerm">Place Part</b> dialog box displays. You have several options:
      </p>
      <div class="title_division">Component name</div>
      <p class="para_division">You may enter the component name you would like to have assigned. This is the component name that appears in the <b class="uiTerm">Assemblies Navigator</b>. The default value is the part name selected in the <b class="uiTerm">Specify Item</b> dialog box, which you may accept or change.
      </p>
      <div class="title_division">Reference set</div>
      <p class="para_division">Place the part using the displayed referenced set.</p>
      <p class="para_division">The <b class="uiTerm">Reference Set</b> menu lists the reference sets defined in the placed part. &nbsp;If you do not define any reference sets, the two choices are <b class="uiTerm">Entire Part</b> and <b class="uiTerm">Empty</b>. The default reference set is the same as used for <b class="uiTerm">Assemblies Add Existing Component</b>. Be aware that if the chosen reference set does not include Routing ports, the placement solutions offered will not be the desired solutions.
      </p>
      <div class="title_division">Positioning</div>
      <p class="para_division">The <b class="uiTerm">Positioning</b> option determines how you position the part into the assembly. The first three options; <b class="uiTerm">Absolute</b>, <b class="uiTerm">Mate</b> and <b class="uiTerm">Reposition</b>, are standard assembly methods. The last option listed is <b class="uiTerm">Route Position</b>, which is the default option. <b class="uiTerm">Route Position</b> provides the special tools available for the placement of routing parts.
      </p>
      <div class="title_division">Layer options</div>
      <p class="para_division">When you place the part, you can assign the object in the part to different layers in the assembly. &nbsp;The <b class="uiTerm">Work</b> option places all object onto the current work layer. &nbsp;The <b class="uiTerm">Original</b> option puts objects onto the layers they are on in the original (prototype) part. &nbsp;The <b class="uiTerm">As Specified</b> option makes the <b class="uiTerm">Layer Entry</b> box active, allowing you to specify the layer on which to place all objects.
      </p>
      <div class="title_division">Transform</div>
      <p class="para_division">The <b class="uiTerm">Transform</b> button  <img align="bottom" src="graphics/ico_t_transform_part.gif" border="0"> accepts the current orientation, and brings up the <b class="uiTerm">Translate/Rotate Part</b> dialog box. See <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('routingtools/parts_move.html');return(false);"><b class="uiTerm">Move Part</b></a> for more details.
      </p>
      <div class="title_division">Lock Part button</div>
      <p class="para_division">The <b class="uiTerm">Lock Part</b> button <img align="bottom" src="graphics/ico_t_lock_part.gif" border="0"> accepts the current orientation, and brings up the <b class="uiTerm">Component Locking</b> dialog box with the placed part preselected as the <b class="uiTerm">FROM</b> component, and the placed port as the <b class="uiTerm">FROM</b> port.       </p>

      <div class="title_division">Clock Part button</div>
      <p class="para_division">The <b class="uiTerm">Clock Part</b> button <img align="bottom" src="graphics/ico_t_clock_part.gif" border="0"> accepts the current orientation, and brings up the <b class="uiTerm">Component Clocking</b> dialog box with the placed component, and placed port preselected as the component and port to clock. Note that <b class="uiTerm">Clock Part</b> is available only when a port&ndash;to&ndash;port connection is made and both ports have a defined rotation vector.       </p>
      <div class="title_division">Lock Engagement switch</div>
      <p class="para_division">The <b class="uiTerm">Lock Engagement</b> option generates a mating condition on the placed component after you choose<b class="uiTerm"> OK</b> or one of the <b class="uiTerm">Transform</b>, <b class="uiTerm">Locking</b> or <b class="uiTerm">Clocking</b> action buttons. This option is insensitive if a mating condition cannot be created on the placed part. This mating condition causes the placed part to move (both translate and rotate) if the part to which it is being connected is moved.
      </p>
      <div class="title_division">Lock Rotation switch</div>
      <p class="para_division">The<b class="uiTerm"> Lock Rotation</b> option is insensitive unless the <b class="uiTerm">Lock Engagement</b> option is checked, and both of the ports involved in the <b class="uiTerm">Lock</b> have rotation vectors. If this option is checked when you leave the <b class="uiTerm">Confirm Orientation</b> dialog box, a <b class="uiTerm">Port&rarr;Port Rotation Mate</b>, is created on the placed component. This mating condition prevents the placed part from being rotated with respect to the part to which it is being connected.
