      </table><br><p class="para_topic">Edit the corresponding Part Table to add the part specification for the part family member. Provide a unique part family member name only if there is no other family member with the same geometric data. The uniqueness of the family member name can be checked using the default <b class="uiTerm">Cross check</b> option of update_fam_from_ptb.

      <p class="para_division">Edit the corresponding row in the Part Table to modify the part specification.</p>

      <p class="para_division">Edit the Part Table to delete the rows, which are no longer needed.</p>

      <div class="title_division"> Adding a part family</div>
      <p class="para_division">There are several steps to adding a new part family to a part library. For instance, the parametric part must be created, the part must be qualified for routing, and a new part table must be created. The following topics define recommended practices for each of these steps.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Create a parametric part</div>
      <p class="para_division">Use Modeling to create a parametric part.</p>
      <p class="para_division">Move required construction geometry to layer 254. Any extraneous construction geometry should be deleted.</p>
      <p class="para_division">Rename the basic expressions that drive the part geometry to convey the closest meaning of the dimension. The part library utility update_fam_from_ptb ignores names such as p1 when automatically building NX part families. Base expressions must be renamed.</p>
