      </table><br><p class="para_topic">The <b class="uiTerm">Format Settings</b> dialog box allows you to modify a format. You can change the order of the fields, add fields, delete fields, change the lengths of the fields in a format, and change the sort order.

               <p class="para_td"><b class="uiTerm">Field Name</b></p>

               <p class="para_td"><b class="uiTerm">Field Name</b> shows the name of the currently selected field. This name should agree with the field names defined in the import file format used. When defining a new field, type the name of the new field here.

               <p class="para_td"><b class="uiTerm">Column Name</b></p>

               <p class="para_td"><b class="uiTerm">Column Name</b> shows the column name of the currently selected field. The column name may be any friendly name. It is the name of the column appearing in the list display heading. When defining a new field, type the name of the new column here.

               <p class="para_td"><b class="uiTerm">Column Order</b></p>

               <p class="para_td"><b class="uiTerm">Column Order</b> shows the column order of the currently selected field. The column order determines the column's position when the list displays. You may enter any integer here. It is the name of the column appearing in the list display heading. When defining a new field, type the order of the new field in the display here.

               <p class="para_td"><b class="uiTerm">Sort Order</b></p>
            </td>
            <td bgcolor="#f7f7f7" colspan="1" rowspan="1">
               <p class="para_td"><b class="uiTerm">Sort Order</b> shows the sort order of the currently selected field. The sort order determines the how the records are ordered when displayed. The list is first sorted alpha&ndash;numerically on the field with sort order of 1. If there are two records with identical values in the field assigned sort order 1, then those two records are sorted again on the field with sort order 2, and so on. If a field has a sort order of zero then the system does not consider it during sorting. You must have one field designated as sort order 1.
               </p>
               <p class="para_td">You may perform sorting in ascending or descending values. To specify descending sorting, the value entered into the field must be negative. For example, if you wish to sort the list first on ascending values of field x and second on descending values of field y, you would specify a sort order of 1 for field x and &ndash;2 for field y.</p>

               <p class="para_td"><b class="uiTerm">Insert/Replace</b> (new field)
               </p>
            </td>
            <td bgcolor="#f7f7f7" colspan="1" rowspan="1">
               <p class="para_td">Enter values for <b class="uiTerm">Field Name</b>, <b class="uiTerm">Column Name</b>, <b class="uiTerm">Column Order</b>, <b class="uiTerm">Column Width</b> and <b class="uiTerm">Sort Order</b>. Choose <b class="uiTerm">Insert/Replace</b>. The new field adds to the list of fields displayed.
               </p>
               <p class="para_td">If the value given for <b class="uiTerm">Column Order</b> is already assigned to another field, that field and all following fields will have their column order incremented by one (it will be inserted). If you give a value greater than the next available number (for example, enter 12 when there are only eight columns) then the field is assigned the next available number (would be assigned 9 in the example).
               </p>

               <p class="para_td">Choose a field from the list shown. The settings for that field appear in the text entry fields below the list.</p>

               <p class="para_td">Choose a field from the list shown and select <b class="uiTerm">Remove</b>. The selected field removes from the format (no longer included in the display).
               </p>

               <p class="para_td">Choose a field from the list shown and select <b class="uiTerm">Shift Up</b>. The selected field moves up one slot, its column order value is changed and the field list updates accordingly. If the field is the first field, it moves to the last slot.
