A routing level allows you to work with nested stock and fittings efficiently and conveniently. A stock on a particular Routing Level will not connect to another stock or a part unless they are on the same level. We designed the behavior of routing levels in relationship to stock and fitting to ensure that you do not accidentally connect stock/fittings in the active routing level across multiple routing levels.

A routing level allows you to organize various routing fittings and stock present in a routing assembly into groups of connectable objects. For example, you could place all wires and electrical fittings on the routing default (level 0), all conduit stock and fittings on routing level 1 and all tube stock and fittings on routing level 2.

You can define any number of routing levels to fit your design needs.
You can use the routing levels to not only model nested stock but to organize different types of stock and parts in your routing assembly into different levels. You can also use routing levels to control stock to part connections. For example, if you do not wish to connect a part placed in a path to the stock present on that path, you can place your part on a different routing level using Edit Characteristics.
