      <p class="para_division">When in <b class="uiTerm">Normal</b> mode, you can select multiple curves with a single selection. When you select two drive curves consecutively, they chain together and a routing path creates between them if they connect through other drive curves. The starting end of this chain will be the end you selected on the first curve. The ending end may be on either end of the second curve you selected. You can change how the curves chain through the <b class="uiTerm">Path Curve Chaining Preference</b> dialog box, available from Routing <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('routingtools/preferences_preference.html');return(false);">Preferences</a>.

               <p class="para_td">These types of curves can chain: lines, arcs, and splines. Note that the current <b class="uiTerm">Application View</b> may limit the types of curves chainable. Those not allowed will be inactive.

               <p class="para_td"><b class="uiTerm">Chaining Method</b></p>

               <p class="para_td">The default is <b class="uiTerm">Continuous</b>. 
               </p>
               <ul>
                  <li>
                     <p class="para_item"><b class="uiTerm">No Branch</b>: Chaining halts at a branch. No curve in the chain can have more than one curve connected to it at either end, except possibly the starting or ending ends of the chain.
                     </p>
                  </li>
                  <li>
                     <p class="para_item"><b class="uiTerm">Continuous</b>: The tangent vectors must match between all connected curves (G1). If there is more than one candidate chain, a selection must be made.
                     </p>
                  </li>
                  <li>
                     <p class="para_item"><b class="uiTerm">Follow Tangent</b>: When multiple curves connect to the current curve in the chain, the one that most closely matches the tangent is used.
                     </p>
                  </li>
                  <li>
                     <p class="para_item"><b class="uiTerm">Cycle All Chains</b>: Returns all possible curve chains for selection. The order of curve chains is random.
                     </p>
                  </li>
                  <li>
                     <p class="para_item"><b class="uiTerm">Minimum (Min) Path Length</b>: Use the chain with the minimum path length.
                     </p>
                  </li>
                  <li>
                     <p class="para_item"><b class="uiTerm">Maximum (Max) Path Length</b>: Use the chain with the maximum path length.
                     </p>
                  </li>
               </ul>

      </table><br><p class="para_division">If the system finds no chain, it treats the second curve as a regular drive curve. If you do not want any chaining, you can turn off all chainable curve types.</p>

                  <p class="para_note_body">The maximum number of curves that can be in a chain is 100. If you exceed this limit, chain them in smaller steps.</p>
