      </table><br><p class="para_topic">The Routing Mechanical application defines a callback program for the <b class="uiTerm">Place Part User Exit</b> of Routing. This program manages the piping specific functions of placing a fitting into a piping run.
      </p>
      <div class="title_division">Accessing butt weld connection</div>
      <p class="para_division">The <b class="uiTerm">Place Part Callback</b> program invokes automatically whenever <b class="uiTerm">Place Part</b>, accessed through the <b class="uiTerm">Routing Toolbar</b>, places a fitting component in a run.
      </p>
      <p class="para_division"><b class="uiTerm">Place Part Callback</b> carries out the butt weld operations under the following circumstance:
      </p>
      <p class="para_division">There exits a port on the placed part, which has a characteristic titled CONNECTION_TYPE with the value BUTT WELD or BW.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Butt weld connection processing</div>
      <p class="para_division">There are three aspects of a butt weld connection managed by the Butt Weld Connection processing. These are:</p>
      <p class="para_division">1) Inclusion of a weld ring in the BOM,</p>
      <p class="para_division">2) Assignment of a weld gap, which alters the length of the connecting pipe stock as reported in the BOM; and,</p>
      <p class="para_division">3) Modeling of the weld gap between fittings.</p>
      <p class="para_division">The Butt Weld Connection processing has no user interaction. It is controlled through <b class="uiTerm">Piping Preferences</b>, which has options for <b class="uiTerm">Weld Rings</b> and <b class="uiTerm">Weld Gaps</b>.
      </p>
      <p class="para_division">Since the operations take place automatically, the <b class="uiTerm">Piping Preference</b> settings must be set before you perform part placement.
      </p>
