      <p class="para_topic">The <b class="uiTerm">Formboard Modify Path Tool</b> allows you to modify the geometry of the selected segments in the formboard assembly. You may change the constructed default lines to arcs and splines and may also modify previously modified lines, arcs, and splines.

                  <p class="para_note_body">If you subdivide a segment that has been altered through <b class="uiTerm">Modify Path</b>, the resulting segments cannot be selected again in <b class="uiTerm">Modify Path</b>. The two segments resulting from the <b class="uiTerm">Subdivide Segment</b> operation both depend on the same underlying spline, so modifying one of the segments individually is not allowed. If necessary, you can use <b class="uiTerm">Simplify Path</b> to return to a single segment and then use <b class="uiTerm">Modify Path</b>.

      <p class="para_topic">You can also bend a line segment by placing a radial bend along the segment. The radius used for the radial bend is the value given for bend corner radius in <b class="uiTerm">Preferences</b>. The <b class="uiTerm">Formboard Modify Path Tool</b> ensures that the length of the line, arc, or spline remains constant.
      </p>
      <p class="para_topic">Any geometry at the end of the line, arc, or spline that is to modify opposite the anchor end transforms such that the angle between the tangent vectors is maintained on all connecting formboard segments.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">Access the <b class="uiTerm">Modify Path Tool</b> by choosing the <b class="uiTerm">Modify Path</b> button from the <b class="uiTerm">Formboard</b> toolbar.

               <p class="para_td">The first step enables single selection and de-selection of routing segments. You cannot select bend side segments that lie between two bends for modification. Select a segment in the work part. Choose the end of the segment to anchor as the end closest to the user's pick (identical to <b class="uiTerm">Rotate Branch</b>). The second step enables screen position and existing point selection.
               </p>

                     <p class="para_item"><b class="uiTerm">Spline</b> option &ndash; Each screen pick will create a new point at that location. Any selected point can also be deselected using Shift-Click. Deselecting an application-generated point will, in addition, also delete that point.

               <p class="para_td">Selection Step 1: Allows selection of a routing curve in the graphics window. Once you select a valid curve, focus moves automatically from Selection Step 1 to Selection Step 2.</p>
               <p class="para_td">Selection Step 2: Allows selection of a screen position(s) to specify new curve geometry (based on option menu setting).</p>
               <p class="para_td">Selection Step Notes: If no indication (selection) is done at Step 2, but instead goes to the first step again, the selection can be redone. The <b class="uiTerm">New Geometry</b> choice may be changed, but the selection of the first object is not lost until another selection performs. The system will remember indications made at Step 2 if Step 1 starts and then immediately returned to Step 2. Changing the <b class="uiTerm">New Geometry</b> specification in Step 2 causes all indications made in Step 2 to disappear but the selection made in Step 1 remains.
               </p>
               <p class="para_td"><b class="uiTerm">Line Button</b>: The selected curve changes to a line.
               </p>
               <p class="para_td"><b class="uiTerm">Arc Button</b>: The selected curve change to an arc. The arc will not be created on <b class="uiTerm">Apply</b> if its radius is less than the radius specified from the <b class="uiTerm">Preferences&rarr;Routing&rarr;Set Corner</b> preference. In addition, the system will not allow looping, for example, if the radius and length constraints of a segment force it to complete more than 360&deg;, the arc will not create.
               </p>
               <p class="para_td"><b class="uiTerm">Spline Button</b>: The selected curve will change to a spline.
               </p>
               <p class="para_td"><b class="uiTerm">Bend Corner Button</b>: The selected linear segment will bend at the segment pick location using a bend corner defined in <b class="uiTerm">Preferences</b>.
               </p>
               <p class="para_td"><b class="uiTerm">Straighten Bend Button</b>: This option is normally insensitive. It will choose automatically when you select a bend segment. The bend corner straightens from the side segment closest to the pick location and will go on till the other side segment. The straightened segment will retain the tag of the anchor side segment and have a length equal to the sum of the bend and side segments. There is no implicit <b class="uiTerm">Apply</b> for this option (as there's no action required in Step 2). You will have to explicitly click <b class="uiTerm">Apply</b> in this case.
               </p>
               <p class="para_td">Geometry Combination Actions:</p>

                     <p class="para_item">Line &ndash; Line: Select a point on the line&ndash; defining the line and the end to anchor. Cursor screen position displays the line that will create upon a left&ndash;click. This is an implicit <b class="uiTerm">Apply</b>.

                     <p class="para_item">Line &ndash; Arc: Select a point on the line &ndash; defining the line and the end to anchor. Cursor screen position displays the arc that will create upon a left&ndash;click. This is an implicit <b class="uiTerm">Apply</b>.

                     <p class="para_item">Line &ndash; Spline: Select a point on the line &ndash; defining the line and the end to anchor. Cursor screen position displays the spline as it will create after left&ndash;click action points may be specified until the maximum spline length has been reached (the length of the original line).</p>

                     <p class="para_item">Line &ndash; Bend Corner: Select a point on the line &ndash; defining the line and the end to anchor. This pick location will define the location of the bend corner control point. The system will use the default routing bend preference to determine the radius of the bend. If you define the default radius in terms of ratio to the stock diameter, the absolute minimum that is allowed is 0.5. A preview of the new configuration displays on the screen. A screen pick in the second step will invoke an implicit <b class="uiTerm">Apply</b>.
                     </p>
                  </li>
