      <p class="para_topic">You can use the <b class="uiTerm">Write ECAD Model</b> command to create/save a file of this type after viewing or processing it in NX or PCB.xchange. PCB.xchange supports IDF Versions 2, 3 and 4. You can apply a filter to remove components, drilled holes and restriction areas that match criteria you define.       </p>
      <p class="para_topic">To create an ECAD model:</p>
      <ol type="1" start="1">
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Choose <b class="uiTerm">File</b>&rarr;<b class="uiTerm">Write</b>&rarr;<b class="uiTerm">Write ECAD Model</b>.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Type in the <b class="uiTerm">ECAD Board File Name</b> and path, or browse to an existing file and location by selecting the folder button. 
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select the entities to include in the Write operation by selecting an option from the  <b class="uiTerm">Write Contents</b> list. 
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select the IDF format, IDF 3 or IDF 2.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select the units for the ECAD file.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Specify whether or not to use an <b class="uiTerm">Entity Filter</b>, and select a filter from the menu. 
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Click OK. A message window opens displaying the output of the command. </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">When the write operation is complete, a completion message appears as well as the number of errors detected. </p>
         </li>
      </ol>
      <div class="title_division"> Options</div>
      <ul>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">The  <b class="uiTerm">Entity Filter</b> excludes entities (such as components, restriction areas and drilled holes) that match criteria defined in the  <i class="fileName">pcbx_ug_filter.ini</i> file. 
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Preview displays the PCB Assembly based on the  Entity Filter. During preview, all entities to be written are shown, regardless of the entity display options you have set on the view menu. Press the Esc key to return to the Write ECAD Model dialog box. </p>
         </li>
      </ul>
