      <p class="para_topic">Use <b class="uiTerm">Lock Part</b> for creating, editing and deleting mating conditions between connected ports. Locking parts assures that components remain attached. For example, you can lock flange components onto a valve so that if the valve moves so do the flanges.
      </p>
      <div class="title_division">Mating conditions</div>
      <p class="para_division">You can use several constraints with the Port&rarr;Port mating conditions The <b class="uiTerm">Lock Part</b> dialog box allows you to create these constraints when <b class="uiTerm">Assemblies Constraints</b> are active.
      </p>
      <p class="para_division">The <b class="uiTerm">Lock Part</b> functionality has been modified to reflect the functionality available in the <b class="uiTerm">Assemblies Constraints</b> dialog box. The constraints are bidirectional.
      </p>
      <div class="title_division">Building mating conditions</div>
      <p class="para_division">The table below shows the behavior for the non&ndash;DCM3 and DCM3 version of <b class="uiTerm">Lock Part</b>. The operations listed below also apply to the<b class="uiTerm"> Place Part</b> dialog box, which builds mating conditions (and now <b class="uiTerm">Assemblies Constraints</b>) to parts placed onto other parts.

      <p class="para_division"><b class="uiTerm">Lock Part</b> can be launched from the <b class="uiTerm">Place Part</b> dialog box <b class="uiTerm">Place Part</b> or from the <b class="uiTerm">Lock Part</b> button on the <b class="uiTerm">Routing</b> toolbar.

               <p class="para_td"><b class="uiTerm">Lock Rotation</b> is turned on if <b class="uiTerm">Lock Engagement</b> is turned on and the port has constraints matching the constraints listed in the Building Mating Conditions table above.
               </p>
               <p class="para_td">If you launch this dialog box from the <b class="uiTerm">Place Part</b> dialog box the placed port of the component is automatically selected.
               </p>

               <p class="para_td"><b class="uiTerm">OK</b> performs an <b class="uiTerm">Apply</b> and exists the dialog box.

               <p class="para_td"><b class="uiTerm">Cancel</b> performs an undo and exists the dialog box.

Undo marks create after you select <b class="uiTerm">OK</b> or <b class="uiTerm">Apply</b>, and before you apply any actions to the component. <b class="uiTerm">Undo</b> <img align="bottom" src="graphics/undo.gif" border="0"> is active while in this dialog box.
