      </table><br><p class="para_topic">To place a standard part within a routing assembly, you first select an object within the routing to place the part and then choose the desired standard part. The types of objects you can use in <b class="uiTerm">Place Part</b> are ports, RCPs, points, lines, arcs, splines, segments, linear edges and circular edges. You may simply define a point by cursor location or through the <b class="uiTerm">Point Constructor</b>, as well.

                  <p class="para_note_body">Any object selected for part placement must reside in the current work part. If an object is in another assembly component, placement solutions will not be correct and port connections do not occur. If placement location is dependent on an object in another component, WAVE linking may be used.</p>

      <p class="para_topic">Once you specify the placement object and part, the system determines a set of placement solutions. There could be few solutions or many, depending on the part placed and the type of placement object. You can cycle through the solutions to select the right one.</p>

      <p class="para_topic">The figure above, panel 1 depicts a standard part with three ports. If you select RCP A, in Panel 2, as the placement point for the depicted standard part, a resulting placement appears in Panel 3. If this is not the desired placement, you may ask the system to choose another possible alignment for the connection points, as in Panel 4, by either clicking once or choosing <img align="bottom" src="graphics/next.gif" border="0"> (Next).

      <p class="para_topic">When you place a standard part within a routing, the system adds RCPs that connect to the part's Ports. In Panel 3, the system added RCPs B, C, and D to the routing. If you remove a standard part, the new RCPs will delete from the routing. So if you remove the standard part in Panel 3, the routing will return to its original definition in Panel 2. To edit the routing within a standard part, for example, the segment from A&ndash;B in Panel 3, you must first remove the part.</p>
