      <p class="para_topic"><b class="uiTerm">Pass</b> allows for the automated passing of nominal sizes from an initial component or stock to adjacent elements and so on, when certain conditions are met.
      </p>
      <p class="para_topic">The conditions for passing &ndash; and potentially assigning &ndash; nominal sizes are defined by means of User_Preferences in the Routing Logical Application View file by specifying the following:</p>
      <ol type="1" start="1">
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Name of an attribute (for example, MEMBER_NAME), the absence of which denotes a component as being universal, that is, being eligible for having a nominal size assigned.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Name of the attribute of a port that denotes that port as a stop port with regard to passing through nominal sizes.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">A constant prefix in the name of one or more attributes holding the nominal sizes of a component or the one holding the nominal sizes of a stock (for example, DN for DN1, DN2, and so on).</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">A constant prefix in the names of ports (for example, C for C1, C2, and so on).</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">A flag indicating whether reaching a stock will stop passing a nominal size or not. Allowed values are Yes or No.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">A flag indicating whether reaching a component will stop passing a nominal size or not. Allowed values are Yes or No.</p>
         </li>
      </ol>
      <p class="para_topic">Whenever a component is placed, its nominal size or size are detected according to the following scheme (&lt;c&gt; and &lt;ns&gt; used below correspond to the value you assign in (4) and (3) above, respectively. For example, C1&rarr;DN1, C2&rarr;DN2).</p>
      <ul>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">A port named &lt;c&gt;i, where i = 1, 2, 3,... has its nominal size in its attribute named &lt;ns&gt;i, where i = 1, 2, 3,...</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">If a port named &lt;c&gt;i, where i = 2, 3,... does not have an attribute named &lt;ns&gt;i, where i = 2, 3,..., it has its nominal size in its attribute named &lt;ns&gt;1.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">If the port has no attribute named &lt;ns&gt;1 at all, then it does not have a nominal size.</p>
         </li>
      </ul>
      <p class="para_topic">&lt;ns&gt; and &lt;c&gt; correspond to the contact prefixes you assign. See 3 and 4 above in the list of user preferences.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">Whenever a stock is assigned, its nominal size (and the one for its two ports) is always detected from the stock attribute &lt;ns&gt;1.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">At each port of the placed component or assigned stock, a connecting port from another component or stock is searched for and its nominal size is detected as described above.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">An error message is displayed in case of any inconsistencies at such a connecting port and the passing through ends at that point. An inconsistencyoccurs in the following conditions:</p>
      <ul>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">If the connecting port has a different nominal size than the one to pass through.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">If the connecting port belongs to a universal component (1) and is a non-stop port (2) and the nominal size to pass through is different than the nominal size of at least one other non-stop port of the universal component.</p>
         </li>
      </ul>
      <p class="para_topic">The connecting port is assigned the nominal size to pass through if:</p>
      <ol type="1" start="1">
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">It does not have any inconsistencies and it belongs to a universal component.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">It is a non-stop part. In this case, the nominal size to pass through is also assigned to all other non-stop ports of the universal component.</p>
         </li>
      </ol>
      <p class="para_topic">Passing through of the nominal size stops at a connecting port in the following conditions:</p>
      <ul>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">If the stock that owns the connecting port is a stop stock (5).</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">If the component that owns the connecting port is a stop component (6).</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">If the component that owns the connecting port is a universal component and</p>
            <ul>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">The connecting port is a stop port</p>
               </li>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">It owns stop ports only</p>
               </li>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">All its ports have nominal size inconsistencies.</p>
               </li>
            </ul>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">If the component or stock that owns the connecting port has a different RUN_ID than the one by which its was reached.</p>
         </li>
      </ul>
      <p class="para_topic">Routing Logical allows you to start passing nominal sizes from an existing component or stock. Once a component or stock is selected its nominal sizes are displayed. Before starting the actual passing, you can change any of the nominal sizes and the new value(s) will be used.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">The <b class="uiTerm">Pass</b> feature can be accessed in Routing Logical under <b class="uiTerm">Edit&rarr;Routing Logical</b>. The application view file for Routing Logical, <code>ugroute_lgl_mm.xml</code>, must have the following user preferences for this feature to work. Value(s) for the user preferences are given as an example.
      </p>
