All branch angles specify in terms of the direction it departs from the reference bundle (either left or right). Branch angles are represented on a 0 to 180 basis in both the + and – Y direction. You determine the direction by the sign of the z vector in the cross product of the two branches making the angle you are calculating.

In this situation, the branches are separated by the specified Fan Out angle. The Routing Electrical application view file (.apv suffix) specifies the default values for Primary Angle, Secondary Angle and Tertiary Angle. Branches attempt to place, without overlapping, at angle increments that are multiples of the value in the Primary Angle box first. If those angles do not work then multiples of Tertiary Angle are tried. Never place branches at angles of 0° or 180° (doing so would cause a branch to lie on top of its associated run). If it is not possible to place a branch at any of these angles without overlapping, then branches will place at angles that are multiples of half of the smallest angle specified.
