      <p class="para_division">Consider a connector that has three logical connections (pins). You have the following options:</p>
      <ul>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Create three standard ports, one for each pin.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Create a multiport with three virtual ports.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Create a multiport with three terminal ports.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Create a multiport with virtual and terminal ports.</p>
         </li>
      </ul>
      <div class="title_division">Create three ports</div>
      <p class="para_division">In <b class="uiTerm">Qualify Part</b> you create three ports in the component. You assign the unique IDs P1 to one, P2 to another, and P3 to the third by assigning each of them the characteristic UNIQUE_ID with their respective values. You add the component to the assembly. You define three paths, each connecting to one of the ports.
      </p>
      <p class="para_division">After wires route, each path shows a solid representing the wire leading to its respective port.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Create a multiport with virtual ports</div>
      <p class="para_division">In <b class="uiTerm">Qualify Part</b> you create a multiport listing the Unique IDs P1, P2 and P3 as Virtual Ports.
      </p>
      <p class="para_division">You add the component to the assembly. You define one path connected to the multiport.</p>
      <p class="para_division">After wires route, a single bundle solid appears connected to the multiport, which represents all three wires and their connections. Individual terminal wires will not model.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Create a multiport with terminal ports</div>
      <p class="para_division">In <b class="uiTerm">Qualify Part</b> you create a multiport listing the Unique IDs P1, P2 and P3. Still in <b class="uiTerm">Qualify Part</b>, you create terminal ports (assign locations) for each pin. You add the component to the assembly. You define one path connected to the multiport.
      </p>
      <p class="para_division">After wires route, use <b class="uiTerm">Create Terminals</b> to automatically create individual wire paths to each terminal port. Solids will represent as each terminal wire.
      </p>
      <div class="title_division">Create a multiport with virtual and terminal ports</div>
      <p class="para_division">In <b class="uiTerm">Qualify Part</b> you create a multiport listing the Unique IDs P1, P2 and P3. Still in <b class="uiTerm">Qualify Part</b>, create terminal ports for one pin. You add the component to the assembly. You define one path connected to the multiport.
      </p>
      <p class="para_division">After wires are routed, you use <b class="uiTerm">Create Terminals</b> to automatically create a wire path to the terminal port. Solids will represent as the terminal wire and the bundle of two wires connected only to the multiport.
      </p>
      <div class="title_division">Cut back length characteristic</div>
      <p class="para_division">In order to take advantage of the <b class="uiTerm">Create Terminals</b> feature, you must assign the characteristic named CUT_BACK_LENGTH to the multiport. <b class="uiTerm">Create Terminals</b> uses this characteristic to identify the distance from the multiport along the connecting segment path where the terminals will exit or break out from the bundle. This characteristic may be added to the each multiport or the part itself. If it exists on both, <b class="uiTerm">Create Terminals</b> will give priority to the characteristic on the multiport. This characteristic must be of type REAL.
      </p>
      <div class="title_division">Extension length</div>
      <p class="para_division">The extension length value, used by <b class="uiTerm">Create Terminals</b> and <b class="uiTerm">Heal Path</b>, provides in several ways. In order of precedence (such as the order in which Routing looks for the value), these methods are:
      </p>
      <ol type="1" start="1">
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">The value of the characteristic (of type STRING) named EXTENSION_LENGTH of the port (any type of port).</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">If a terminal port, the value of the EXTENSION_LENGTH characteristic of its associated multiport.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">The value of the EXTENSION_LENGTH characteristic of the component part to which the port belongs.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">The value of the extension length parameter assigned to the port (in <b class="uiTerm">Qualify Part</b>).
            </p>
         </li>
      </ol>

      <div class="title_division">Allow multiple connections</div>
      <p class="para_division">The <b class="uiTerm">Allow Multiple Connections</b> option is checked by default (see figure below). The option allows routing with multiple connections. If this option is unchecked, then it can be exclusively routed with one connection.
