      </table><br><p class="para_topic">The following terms explain the concepts of a requirement and a check.</p>

               <p class="defObject">Requirement</p>
            </td>
            <td valign="top">
               <p class="para_defMeaning">A conditional statement used by a check under that requirement. </p>
            </td>

               <p class="defObject">External requirement</p>
            </td>
            <td valign="top">
               <p class="para_defMeaning">Arequirement that is imported into NX from a external data source (such as Teamcenter or a spreadsheet file).</p>

               <p class="defObject">User requirement</p>
            </td>
            <td valign="top">
               <p class="para_defMeaning">A requirement that you create interactively as opposed to importing the requirement from a data source (such as Teamcenter Engineering). A user requirement is also called an Ad Hoc Requirement.</p>

               <p class="defObject">Check</p>
            </td>
            <td valign="top">
               <p class="para_defMeaning">Specifies an expression to compare to that conditional statement. </p>
               <p class="para_defMeaning">For example, if the requirement conditional statement is &ldquo; &gt; 50&rdquo; and there is a check named Ck1 under that requirement whose expression is &ldquo;p0+p1&rdquo;, then the check Ck1 constructs and evaluates a conditional statement &ldquo;p0+p1 &gt; 50&rdquo;. There could be a second check Ck2 under the same requirement that specifies expression &ldquo;p2&rdquo;, and it would construct and evaluate a conditional statement &ldquo;p2 &gt; 50&rdquo;.</p>

      <p class="para_topic">A user requirement lets you:</p>
      <ul>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Edit the information about the requirement.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Add a check under the requirement.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Delete the requirement and the checks under it.</p>
         </li>
      </ul>
      <p class="para_topic">A check lets you:</p>
      <ul>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Edit the expression for the check by typing in place or by using the Expression Editor.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Clear the expression for the check so that it no longer has an expression.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Change the name of a check.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Set the check to be suppressed or unsuppressed.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Delete the check.</p>
         </li>
