How do I add customized checker DFA files to Check-Mate?

Create a new text file named "custom_dirs.dat" and put the path to the Check-Mate files in it. For example, if your Check-Mate DFA files reside in c:\temp\checkmate\dfa, then the file should contain one line that says:

c:\temp\checkmate

There is no trailing slash, and the directory is one level above the DFA files directory. The filename is not really important, but "custom_dirs.dat" is the name of the original file that is overriden. For example, you could name this file "mycompany_custom_dirs.dat".

You then add the following line to your batch script:

set UGII_CUSTOM_DIRECTORY_FILE=c:\temp\checkmate\mycompany_custom_dirs.dat

NX searches for customization items at each line in the above file.

Why do external utilities in the UGCHECKMATE kit not work when run from Windows Explorer?

These external utilities use NX libraries and NX environment variables, so they have to be run from a command prompt where these variables are set. Go to:

Start→ All Programs→ NX→ NX Tools→ Command Prompt

Why are there two identical part nodes in the Results window when running in Teamcenter Integration mode?

Before NX 3.0.4, Check-Mate saved the display name of the checked part in the results log since Check-Mate was not required to decode the part name. In NX 3.0.4 and later releases, Check-Mate saves the physical name of the checked part in the results log, but still shows the display name in the View Results dialog box. Hence, Check-Mate is able to properly decode the part name.

In the Teamcenter Engineering database, results logs created before NX 3.0.4 can coexist with the logs created after NX 3.0.4. Therefore, two identically named part nodes display in the View Results dialog box when retrieving the log files from the Teamcenter Engineering database.

How can I find and view the log files generated in Teamcenter Engineering in the CKViewer?

There is a part name filter available on the toolbar of the CkViewer. By default, it is set to *.prt. Change the filter to * to view the log files generated in Teamcenter Engineering and stored in the native file system.

Why Do I Get a NullLanguageException Error When Running the Check-Mate Viewer or Quality Dashboard and Report Generator Java programs?

It happens often in a non-English environment. You need to change to an English environment to workaround the problem. On Windows: Start→ Control Panel, and under Regional and Language options, select English (United States.

Can Check-Mate read the DFA files stored in the Teamcenter Engineering database?

No.

Can Check-Mate save the checking results in the Teamcenter Engineering database?

Yes, providing the release is NX 3.0.2 or later. When running Check-Mate interactively in Teamcenter Integration, click the View Validation Results button. Place your cursor on the background area of the Save Part Results window, right-click and choose Save Result to Teamcenter Engineering.

How Can I Get the Available Options when Running the Check-Mate Command Line Utility?

You can specify “ug_check_part –help” to get a list of options in the help messages from the command line utility.

What Are the Available TeamCenter Engineering Options in the Command Line Utility?

In NX 3.0.2 and later releases, there are “-u=”, “-p=”, “-g=” and “-role” options. Please see the online Help for details.
