            <p class="para_item">In the <b class="uiTerm">Create Operation</b> dialog box, create a fixed or variable axis <b class="uiTerm">Streamline</b> operation.
            </p>

                  <p class="para_item">To create a fixed axis operation select <b class="uiTerm">mill_contour</b> from the <b class="uiTerm">Type</b> list and select <b class="uiTerm">STREAMLINE</b> <img align="bottom" src="../graphic_library/icons/dialogs/manufacturing/create_operation/streamline.gif" border="0"> from the <b class="uiTerm">Operation Subtype</b> group.

                  <p class="para_item">To create a variable axis operation, select <b class="uiTerm">mill_multi-axis</b> from the <b class="uiTerm">Type</b> list and select <b class="uiTerm">VARIABLE_STREAMLINE</b> <img align="bottom" src="../graphic_library/icons/dialogs/manufacturing/create_operation/variable_streamline.gif" border="0"> from the <b class="uiTerm">Operation Subtype</b> group.

            <p class="para_item">In the <b class="uiTerm">Streamline</b> or <b class="uiTerm">Variable Streamline</b> dialog box, click <b class="uiTerm">Specify Part</b> <img align="bottom" src="../graphic_library/icons/dialogs/manufacturing/common/specify_part.gif" border="0"> and define the part geometry if it is not inherited from the workpiece.

            <p class="para_item">(Optional) Click <b class="uiTerm">Specify Cut Area</b> <img align="bottom" src="../graphic_library/icons/dialogs/manufacturing/create_geometry/mill_area.gif" border="0"> and select the face or group of faces that require machining. If the cut area is not selected, the entire part is considered the cut area.

            <p class="para_item">In the <b class="uiTerm">Drive Method</b> group, click <b class="uiTerm">Edit</b> <img align="bottom" src="../graphic_library/icons/dialogs/manufacturing/common/edit.gif" border="0">.

            <p class="para_item">In the <b class="uiTerm">Streamline Drive Method</b> dialog box, review the flow and cross curve selections.
            </p>

                  <p class="para_item">Notice the <b class="uiTerm">Selection Method</b> option is <b class="uiTerm">Automatic</b> (default).
                  </p>

                  <p class="para_item">Expand the <b class="uiTerm">Flow Curves</b> and <b class="uiTerm">Cross Curves</b> lists and notice the Flow and Cross curves that were defined by the software.
                  </p>
               </li>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">Select each flow and cross curve set to view the curves in the graphics window. The software created these curves automatically from the cut area boundaries.</p>
               </li>
            </ol>
            <p class="para_item">For valid cut area shapes, the <b class="uiTerm">Automatic</b> selections should not require any changes. For more complex shapes you may need to define additional flow and cross curve sets. See <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('mfgmilling/streamline_flow_cross_curves.html');return(false);">Flow and cross curve examples</a> for more details.

            <p class="para_item">(Optional) Manually specify flow or cross curves.</p>

         <li><a name="streamline_continue_steps"></a><p class="para_item">In the <b class="uiTerm">Cut Direction</b> group, click <b class="uiTerm">Specify Cut Direction</b>. In the graphics window, select an arrow head to direct the operation to machine along the length or across the width.

            <p class="para_item">Check the material side vector. If it does not point away from the solid body, click <b class="uiTerm">Flip Material</b> in the <b class="uiTerm">Material Side</b> group. (<b class="uiTerm">Variable Streamline</b> only)
            </p>
            <p class="para_item">Fixed Axis operations automatically determine the material side. If the material side is wrong, and <b class="uiTerm">Tanto</b> is used, re-order the flow curve sets (in the list) in the opposite order.

            <p class="para_item">Modify the <b class="uiTerm">Trim and Extend</b> values to increase or decrease the tool path area (optional).
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Modify the <b class="uiTerm">Path Settings</b> as required.
            </p>
            <p class="para_item">If your part has <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('mfgmilling/streamline_drive_method_dialog.html#itp_bi-tangent_definition');return(false);">bi-tangent conditions</a> along the selected edges, select the <b class="uiTerm">Contact</b> option from the <b class="uiTerm">Tool Position</b> list. (Fixed axis <b class="uiTerm">Streamline</b> operations only.)

If the preview is acceptable, click <b class="uiTerm">OK</b> to return to the <b class="uiTerm">Streamline</b> dialog box.
