      <p class="para_topic">When you select Geometry, the Engage Geometry dialog displays. The Engage Motion dialog requires you to define the engage geometry by selecting curves or surfaces before allowing you to proceed to the Continuous Path Motions dialog.</p>

      </table><br><div class="title_division">Drive, Part, Check</div>
      <p class="para_division">Across the top of the dialog there is a toggle button for the Drive, Part, and Check Surfaces. After you have specified all three surfaces, you may verify or modify any of your selections by toggling the button for that surface. The system initially starts with the Drive Surface, and automatically switches to the Part and Check Surfaces. Choose OK after defining each surface and again to return to the Engage Motion dialog.</p>
      <p class="para_division">When verifying or modifying an existing drive, part, or check surface, the previously selected face or curve is highlighted in a contrasting color. This color is specified in the Main/Part Boundary Color option menu on the Manufacturing Preferences dialog. All other geometry for the sub-operation is highlighted in the system-defined color.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Type</div>
      <p class="para_division">Type allows you to indicate the following types of geometry as the Drive Surface, Part Surface, and Check Surface for the current engage sub-operation.</p>

      <p class="para_division">None indicates that you have not specified a Check Surface. You must specify a Drive Surface and a Part Surface.</p>
      <p class="para_division">Face indicates that you will select a solid face.</p>
      <p class="para_division">Curve, Directrix indicates that you will select a Curve. The Directrix is a vector that is used to generate an internal Tabulated Cylinder using the curve. The Tabulated Cylinder is required for positioning the tool to the curve. The Tabulated Cylinder is typically parallel to the tool axis (Tool Axis option) which, in fixed axis machining, is usually the Zm-Axis. The Vector option allows you to specify any vector as the Directrix.</p>
      <p class="para_division">Temporary Plane allows you to use the Plane Subfunction to specify a temporary plane.</p>
      <p class="para_division">Automatic causes the Part geometry to be a temporary plane that passes through the current tool position and is perpendicular to the Zm-axis of the Machine Coordinate System.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Directrix</div>
      <p class="para_division">See the above discussion in Curve, Directrix.</p>

      <div class="title_division">Stopping Position</div>
      <p class="para_division">Stopping Position refers to the location of the final tool position for the current sub-operation in relation to the Drive Surface, Part Surface, or Check Surface. If necessary, the system uses the extension of the geometry to determine the position. (Note that you must specify the Stopping Position before you select the Drive Surface, Part Surface, or Check Surface.) The options are:</p>

      <p class="para_division">Near Side positions the tool on the near side of the specified geometry. If the tool is placed at the Reference Point, the side of the surface that the tool is on is considered to be the near side.</p>
      <p class="para_division">Far Side is opposite the Near Side.</p>
      <p class="para_division">On Surface positions the tool so that the tool end stops directly on the specified geometry. This option is not influenced by the Reference Point position.</p>

      <p class="para_division">Ds-Cs Tangency and Ps-Cs Tangency positions the tool at the tangency of the Drive-Check or Part-Check surfaces. An example of this condition is the meeting of a part wall and corner radius. You must select this option if that tangency condition exists and you must not select this option if that tangency condition does not exist.</p>

      <div class="title_figure">Ds-Cs Tangency Condition.</div>
      <p class="para_division">When the Stopping Position is set to Ds-Cs Tangency, the Stock value (described below) for the Check surface must be the same as the Stock value for the Drive Surface and Added Stock should be set to Drive. Setting Added Stock to Drive enables the system to maintain tangency between the Drive and Check surfaces by stocking them equally.</p>
      <p class="para_division">When the Stopping Position is set to Ps-Cs Tangency, the Stock value (described below) for the Check surface must be the same as the Stock value for the Part Surface and Added Stock should be set to Part. Setting Added Stock to Part enables the system to maintain tangency between the Part and Check surfaces by stocking them equally.</p>

      <div class="title_division">Stock</div>
      <p class="para_division">Stock allows you to enter the amount of stock to be left on the Drive Surface, Part Surface, and Check Surface at the end of the Engage move.</p>
      <p class="para_division">No stock (Global Stock, Loop Stock, or individual surface stock) is applied to a surface if that surface's stopping position is On Surface.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Added Stock</div>
      <p class="para_division">Added Stock allows you to specify whether or not the Global Stock and/or Loop Stock specified for the Drive and Part Surfaces are added to the Stock value (described above) specified for the Check Surface. Added Stock applies only to the Check Surface.</p>
      <div class="title_division">None</div>
      <p class="para_division">None indicates that only the Stock value (described above) will be left on the Check Surface and no additional Global Stock and/or Loop Stock will be added.</p>

      <p class="para_division">This option is sometimes useful in cases where the tool passes over the edge of the Check Surface as illustrated above. By setting Added Stock to None, Global and Loop Stocks do not accumulate at the Check Surface as illustrated in the Added Stock=Drive case.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Drive</div>
      <p class="para_division">Drive indicates that the Global Stock specified for the Drive Surfaces and the current Drive Surface Loop Stock (if any) are added to the Stock value (described above) for the Check Surface. If the current Check Surface is used as the Drive Surface in the next suboperation, the Added Stock option should be set to Drive.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Part</div>
      <p class="para_division">Part indicates that the Global Stock specified for Part Surfaces and the current Part Surface Loop Stock (if any) are added to the Stock value (described above) for the Check Surface. If the current Check Surface is used as the Part Surface in the next suboperation, the Added Stock option should be set to Part.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Direction Move</div>
      <p class="para_division">Direction Move aids in positioning the tool to the part. Specify a point or vector in the general direction that the tool is to move to reach the initial cutting position. This option is useful when more than one stopping position is possible or when the tool is far from the part.</p>

      <p class="para_division">Point causes the Point Subfunction dialog to appear.</p>
      <p class="para_division">Vector causes the Vector Subfunction dialog to appear.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Side Indicator</div>
      <p class="para_division">Side Indicator is useful in overcoming ambiguities involving the near and far side of a Drive Surface, Part Surface, or Check Surface when the tool lies on that surface or overlaps it.</p>

      <p class="para_division">Point causes the Point Subfunction dialog to appear so that you can specify a point on the side of the surface the tool is to be positioned.</p>
      <p class="para_division">Vector causes the Vector Subfunction dialog to appear so that you can specify a vector pointing from the near side to the far side of the surface.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Reselect All Geometry</div>
      <p class="para_division">Reselect All Geometry enables you to redefine the engage geometry. It cancels the currently selected drive, part, and check surfaces and allows you to reselect new geometry.</p>
