Customers in any industry can benefit from Manual Cut in a number of ways:

Manual Cut gives you control over where to direct the cutter when none of the predetermined, automated cut patterns are appropriate for the particular geometry you are machining. Thus, you no longer have to make several separate operations with shorter, individual cut patterns to conform to your geometry. You simply define the desired cut pattern for every region.

Manual Cut is efficient because for some part geometry, you (not the processor) can define the best cut pattern. If this cut pattern is not a predetermined option, then you still can easily define the cutter location by using Manual Cut.

For some specific, complex, geometry you may need to use a particular cut pattern not yet available in NX. Manual Cut can save you time because you don't have to wait for your desired cut pattern to be included as a predefined, automated option in the next version of NX.

Manual Cut also can save you time when you determine that multiple cuts with the automated cut patterns can be replaced with just one or a few efficient manual cuts using a larger tool.

Using Manual Cut reduces the need for constructing geometry for machining. That is, predefined cut patterns require specific geometry to control the tool. When you manually control the tool path, your cut pattern does not need to conform to specific geometry.

Manual Cut takes little time to learn how to use it because the user interface has a focused set of options.

Graphical feedback gives you control by showing you where the cutter will go before you accept the cut pattern. You can see the positioning of the cutter as well as the profile wall of the model and cut region.

You can do a gouge check with every motion you define by turning the toggle on or off, allowing you to check for accuracy and avoid costly material damage.
