      <p class="para_topic">Peck Drill generates a simulated peck drilling cycle at each selected CL-point. A peck drilling cycle consists of a series of drilling motions into and out of a hole at progressive intermediate increments. The system uses GOTO/ command statements to describe and generate the required tool motions in the following order:</p>
      <ol type="1" start="1">
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">The tool moves at the Cycle Feed Rate to the first intermediate increment.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">The tool moves from the hole to the operational clearance point at the Retract Feed Rate.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">The tool moves at The Engage Feed Rate to a clearance point above the previous depth (defined by the Step Clearance prompt following your choice of Peck Drill. Distance is the retract move, relative to the current peck depth, that allows chips to escape and coolant to enter the hole.</p>

            <p class="para_item">The tool moves at the Cycle Feed Rate to the next intermediate depth which you set using the Increment option. The Increment can be None, Constant (i.e., each peck at the same distance from the last), and Variable (i.e., each peck can repeat at the same distance as the last, or start repeating at a new depth).</p>
            <p class="para_item">This series of motions continues until the specified hole depth is reached, at which point the system removes the tool from the hole to the operational clearance point at the Retract Feed Rate.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Positions the tool to the subsequent drilling location at the Rapid Feed Rate and begins the next drilling cycle.</p>
         </li>
      </ol>
      <div class="title_division">Distance</div>
      <p class="para_division">At the Distance menu prompt, you must enter a non-zero value to define the clearance distance between successive peck increments.</p>
      <p class="para_division">For each increment that does not reach the final depth, the system generates a motion completely out of the hole at the Retract Feed Rate followed by a motion at the Engage Feed Rate to a point that is the Distance above the previous depth.</p>
      <p class="para_division">From that point, the tool moves at the Cut Feed Rate to the next incremental depth. You must enter a Distance even if no intermediate increments are desired.</p>

                  <p class="para_warning_body">  CAUTION: The system accepts a negative value for the Distance. A negative value, however, causes the system to generate a GOTO/ motion at the Engage Feed Rate to a point which is below the previous hole depth. This might have a detrimental effect on your tool or part.</p>
