      <p class="para_division"><a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('mfggeneral/parent_group_mcs.html');return(false);">Link MCS/RCS</a></p>
      <p class="para_division">This option allows you to establish the Reference Coordinate System (RCS) at the same location and orientation as the MCS. Check this option to link the RCS to the MCS.</p>
      <p class="para_division">This is possible because NX stores every parameter set with a copy of the RCS that was active at the time it was created. Therefore, during subsequent operations, you can retrieve these parameters and reposition them to the current (moved) RCS.</p>
      <p class="para_division">The default RCS is the Absolute Coordinate System.</p>

                  <p class="para_note_body">If the preference for MCS/RCS link is off, then the on/off setting in the group template, such as MCS, will be used. If the preference is on, then this will override the setting in the geometry group template. For example, if an MCS group is created, MCS/RCS link will be set to on, regardless of what it is set to in the template.</p>

      <p class="para_division">When you retrieve parameters and relocate to the currently active RCS, the following parameters are mapped:</p>
      <ul>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Clearance Planes</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Part Surface (in milling modules)</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Engage/Retract points/vectors/planes</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Start and Return Points</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Tool Axis</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Projection Vector</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Lower Limit Plane</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Points and Tool Axis vectors associated with Post Commands.</p>
         </li>
      </ul>
      <p class="para_division">The FROM and GOHOME locations are not mapped.</p>

                  <p class="para_note_body"> If you retrieve the description of an existing operation containing a reference to a tool which has been deleted (using the Delete function), that tool reference is no longer valid, and the system displays the following error message:</p>

      <div class="title_division">Invalid Tool Data</div>
      <p class="para_division">You may find the RCS useful when:</p>
      <ul>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Repositioning a part on a machine tool (setup change).</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Repositioning from one work face to another.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Machining multiple parts (such as &quot;chimney&quot; setups).</p>
         </li>
      </ul>
      <p class="para_division">In the following illustration, the RCS is shown at its original location. The Start Point is specified and its location is stored relative to the RCS when you Accept the operation. Later you can move the RCS to the next face and retrieve the previous operation. The Start Point is then positioned relative to the new RCS location.</p>

      <div class="title_figure">The Reference Coordinate System</div>
      <div class="title_division">Relocate Parameters</div>
      <p class="para_division">Relocate Parameters allows you to relocate the parameters associated with the operation to the currently active RCS. When you toggle this option, the parameters are mapped to the new Reference Coordinate System (RCS). If Reference Coordinate System, Use status is set to Stored, the Relocate Parameters option is not available.</p>

      <div class="title_division">Unlink Instances</div>
      <p class="para_division">Unlink Instances allows you to edit only the current operation. Instanced operations will not share the edits.</p>
      <p class="para_division">The following table shows the parameters that may be initialized with tool parameters.</p>

      <p class="para_division">Operation Transform Options provide ways to control the Transform option. You can toggle the following:</p>
      <div class="title_division">Collect Instances</div>
      <p class="para_division">When this button is depressed, Instances of the Operation are also Transformed.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Generate Tool Paths</div>
      <p class="para_division">When this button is depressed, a new tool path is generated after the Operation(s) is Transformed.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Generation</div>
      <div class="title_division">Update All Instances</div>
      <p class="para_division">When toggled ON, Update All Instances updates all of the instanced operations in a group when you modify and then Generate any one of the instanced operations.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Pause After Each Path</div>
      <p class="para_division">Pause After Each Path allows you to have NX pause after generating each operation when you have selected multiple operations.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Refresh Before Each Path</div>
      <p class="para_division">Refresh Before Each Path allows you to have NX refresh the graphics window before generating each operation when you have selected multiple operations. </p>

                  <p class="para_note_body">The initial settings for many of the settings in preferences are set in Customer Defaults. To access Customer Defaults go to File&rarr;Utilities&rarr;Customer Defaults&rarr;Manufacturing. If you find that you always want certain preferences set differently, you should change the setting in  <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('mfggeneral/cust_defaults.html');return(false);">Customer Defaults</a>. You can make the setting at the user, group, or site level. For more information on Customer Defaults see the Gateway Online Help.
                  </p>

      <div class="title_division">Machining Data</div>
      <div class="title_division">Automatically Set Machining Data</div>
      <p class="para_division">When turned on, this feature automatically sets the machining data for each operation as it is created, and whenever any of five key parameter values change. &nbsp;</p>
      <p class="para_division">The machining data is copied from the Machining Data library. This has the optimum machining data values, as determined by your site administrator, for certain cutting conditions.</p>
      <p class="para_division">You can also set machining data using Set Machining Data from the Operation Navigator or the Operation's Feedrates dialog.
