      <p class="para_topic">Geometry groups define the machining geometry and the orientation of the Part on the machine tool. Parameters such as Part, Blank, and Check geometry, MCS orientation, and clearance planes are defined here. </p>
      <p class="para_topic">You can also use a Knowledge Fusion rule to automatically assign new feature groups to geometry parents (MCS, Workpiece) based on feature information. This function makes it easier to place feature groups after they are created. For example, you can select WORKPIECE but let the rule decide about the final parent MCS.       <p class="para_topic">The following types of Geometry Groups can be created depending on the specified CAM Setup:</p>

            <p class="para_item"><a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('mfggeneral/parent_group_mcs.html');return(false);">MCS</a> 
            </p>
            <p class="para_item">The Machine Coordinate System is the base location for all subsequent tool path output points. Each Mill Orientation group defines the MCS and associated clearance plane necessary to machine a specific side of the Part. The TOP group for example, will be used by all operations (facing, roughing, finishing, drilling) that machine the top of the Part.</p>

            <p class="para_item"><a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('mfggeneral/parent_group_millgeom.html');return(false);">Mill Geometry/Workpiece</a> 
            </p>
            <p class="para_item">The Mill Geometry and Workpiece icons in the Create Geometry dialog box perform identical functions. They both allow you to define Part, Blank, and Check geometry from selected bodies, faces, curves, or surface regions. In addition, they allow you to define Part thickness, Part Material, and save the currently displayed layout and layer.</p>

            <p class="para_item"> <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('mfggeneral/parent_group_mill_bound.html');return(false);">Mill Boundary</a></p>
            <p class="para_item">The Mill Boundary icon allows you to define Part, Blank, Check and Trim, boundaries which when used in various combinations define areas that constrain cutting moves. These areas may be defined by either a single boundary that contains the tool or by a combination of boundaries that both contain and exclude the tool. The behavior, usage, and availability of boundaries differ depending on the machining module in which they are used. All boundaries, however, have certain common characteristics regardless of their application.</p>

            <p class="para_item"><a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('mfggeneral/parent_group_mill_area.html');return(false);">Mill Area</a> 
            </p>
            <p class="para_item">Mill Area allows you to specify the surfaces you wish to machine by defining Part Geometry, Check Geometry, Cut Area, and Trim boundaries. </p>
         </li>

            <p class="para_item"><a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('mfggeneral/parent_group_inheritance.html');return(false);">Inheritance</a> 
            </p>
            <p class="para_item">Geometry and parameters specified in Geometry groups are inherited by all subordinate groups and operations where they are valid. For example, if you select Part Geometry and Offset in a Mill_Geom group and then create a Mill_Area group underneath it, the Part Geometry and Offset will be inherited. </p>
         </li>
      </ul>
