      </table><br><p class="para_topic">The <b class="uiTerm">Cut Levels</b> dialog in Cavity Milling and Zlevel operations lets you define all the cutting depths. This is done by defining ranges, and the required depths of cut within each range. There are many ways to define ranges, and to determine the levels to generate cuts. By default, a new operation creates cut range limits at each planar face.
      </p>
      <p class="para_topic">The <b class="uiTerm">Plunge Levels</b> dialog in Plunge Milling defines a single plunge range.

      <p class="para_topic">The <b class="uiTerm">Cut Levels</b> dialog is organized into three separate areas: global information, current range information, and additional options.
      </p>

               <p class="para_td">The default value when a range is added. &nbsp;This value affects the maximum depth per cut of all cut ranges in <b class="uiTerm">Auto Generate</b> or <b class="uiTerm">Single</b> mode. For <b class="uiTerm">User Defined</b> mode, the global depth per cut is applied to all ranges if they all have the same initial value. If they don't all have the same initial value, then you are asked if you want the new &nbsp;value applied to all ranges.
               </p>
               <p class="para_td">The software calculates equal cut levels that don't exceed the specified value. The figure below illustrates how the software adjusts for a specified <b class="uiTerm">Global Depth Per Cut</b> value of 0.25.

                     <p class="para_item"><b class="uiTerm">Constant</b> maintains the depth of cut at the <b class="uiTerm">Global Depth per Cut</b> value.

                     <p class="para_item"><b class="uiTerm">Optimized</b> adjusts the depth of cut to help maintain a more consistent on part spacing and  scallop height. <b class="uiTerm">Optimized</b> creates additional cuts as the slope changes from steep or near vertical to shallow or flat. The maximum cut depth does not exceed the <b class="uiTerm">Global Depth per Cut</b> value. (Available for <b class="uiTerm">ZLevel</b> operations only.)

Use this to cut (top off) each critical depth (horizontal surface) immediately after the first cut that is below that surface. This is similar to the <b class="uiTerm">Top Off Islands</b> option in planar milling.

               <p class="para_td">Enter a <b class="uiTerm">Range Depth</b> value to define the bottom of a new range or edit the bottom of an existing range. This distance is measured from the specified reference plane (<b class="uiTerm">Top Level,</b> <b class="uiTerm">Range Top</b>, <b class="uiTerm">Range Bottom</b>, <b class="uiTerm">WCS Origin</b>). Use a positive or negative value to define the range above or below the reference plane. An added range will extend from the specified depth to the bottom of the range just above it. A modified range, however, will extend to the specified depth even if previously defined ranges are deleted in the process.

               <p class="para_td"><b class="uiTerm">Local Depth Per Cut </b>is similar to <b class="uiTerm">Global Depth per Cut</b>, except the value affects the maximum depth per cut in an individual range. 
               </p>
               <p class="para_td">Key in the Local Depth Per Cut value and then select <b class="uiTerm">Apply</b> or the Up and Down arrows to create the cut depths. By specifying a different depth per cut for each range, you can create cut levels that will take out more material per cut level in some areas and less per cut level in other areas. The figure below illustrates how Range 1 uses a large <b class="uiTerm">Local Depth Per Cut</b> (A) to rough out material quickly and Range 2 uses a small <b class="uiTerm">Local Depth Per Cut</b> (B) to remove material gradually closer to the contour of the blend.
