      <p class="para_topic">A hook groove is a groove which contains features that are not visible on the part surface and require undercut machining to reach them. This could be a feature such as the following:</p>

      </table><br><p class="para_topic">In order to machine this type of part, you must enclose the area to be machined by trim planes as follows:</p>

      <p class="para_topic">To remove the remaining material in the groove:</p>
      <ol type="1" start="1">
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select a suitable hook groove tool that allows you to safely enter the groove feature and still reach into the hook groove areas.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Position four trim planes such that they form a box encompassing the area of remaining material (hook groove areas). Ensure that no overhanging areas of your part boundary are included in the trim box.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select a suitable cutting strategy from the roughing operation's main dialog.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Display Cut Regions and generate the operation if the desired cut region is contained within the trim box.</p>
         </li>
      </ol>
