ISO Command

None

SET/PAIRED MDF

This option allows you to designate that the current
MDF is to be paired with another MDF. For instance, you can use this option
to switch between Mill and Lathe (or Punch and Laser, etc.) MDFs. This
is commonly used for Production centers having both Milling and Turning
operation in the same tool path.

You must specify a post command that will indicate to
the GPM that it should change to another mode (Mill to Lathe, etc..) (This
command causes the GPM to read in the other MDF in that mode.)

To specify the
current MDF mode, use one of the following post commands: SET/MODE, MILL, SET/MODE, TURN,
SET/MODE, PUNCH, SET/MODE,
LASER, SET/MODE, TORCH (or FLAME.)

You must select a SET/MODE command because the GPM uses
it to determine if that is the current
mode. If not, it calls the paired MDF and switches modes.

For example, when using a Mill/Lathe Production Center
in the mill mode you can switch to the lathe mode by inserting a SET/MODE,TURN
command in the CLSF and the GPM will call the paired lathe MDF.

You might want to pair two mill MDFs. In such cases,
the first MDF is called with SET/MODE,MILL. Then use another mode such
as SET/MODE PUNCH for the second mill MDF - because there is no second
SET/MODE,MILL option.

Indicate whether the MDF is a Mill half of a production
center pair. If so, you are presented the sequence of menus to define
the production center milling parameters described in the section Production
Center.

You are prompted to specify the name (with or without
the extension) of the paired MDF, which, in the absence of the path, should
reside in the current directory, the directory defined by the environment
variable UGII_MDF_DIR, or the directory defined by the environment variable
UGII_UTIL.

CAUTION: The number of characters used to
specify the paired MDF[A] name should not exceed 24.

Then you can specify the M and G codes for SET/MODE,
MILL; SET/MODE,TURN; SET/MODE,PUNCH; SET/MODE,LASER; and SET/MODE,ARC.
These commands cause the GPM to output the M and G codes so that the machine
control changes mode.
