      <p class="para_topic">The Library can be used as delivered, but you may like to enhance the database to better reflect your needs. You may need to change some of the search criteria, or the appearance of the Search Result Dialog and perhaps even add a class or subclass. &nbsp;This type of configuration should only be undertaken by the person responsible for NX customization in your company.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">The files required to configure the Library can be found under :</p>

      <p class="para_topic">where you will find a folder representing each of the library types:</p>

         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">devices </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">feeds and speeds</p>

      <p class="para_topic">The following file types play a role in customizing the Library:</p>

               <p class="para_td">data (.dat) files</p>

               <p class="para_td">These files contain the actual data in the database. For each type of library, there is a .dat file. For example,</p>

                     <p class="para_item">tool_database.dat and holder_database.dat- hold the tools and holders in the database (these are actually in subdirectories called english and metric as the Library provides you with both English and metric data).</p>
                  </li>
                  <li>
                     <p class="para_item">machine_database.dat -holds the machines in the machine database</p>
                  </li>
                  <li>
                     <p class="para_item">device_database.dat -holds the machine devices in the machine device database</p>
                  </li>
                  <li>
                     <p class="para_item">feeds_speeds.dat - holds the feeds and speeds data for the feeds and speeds database</p>
                  </li>
               </ul>

               <p class="para_td">definition (.def) files</p>

               <p class="para_td">These files contain the information on configuring the three dialogs: the Classification Dialog, the Search Criteria Dialog and the Search Result Dialog. If you want to change the appearance of these three dialogs, you would do it in their respective .def files. For example,</p>

                     <p class="para_item">dbc_tool_ascii.def - holds the information about the appearance of the Classification, Search Criteria and Search Result Dialogs for the tool database.</p>
                  </li>
                  <li>
                     <p class="para_item">dbc_holder_ascii.def - holds the information about the appearance of the Classification, Search Criteria and Search Result Dialogs for the holder database.</p>
                  </li>
                  <li>
                     <p class="para_item">dbc_machine_ascii.def - holds the information about the appearance of the Classification, Search Criteria and Search Result Dialogs for the machine database.</p>
                  </li>
                  <li>
                     <p class="para_item">dbc_device_ascii.def - holds the information about the appearance of the Classification, Search Criteria and Search Result Dialogs for the device database. </p>
                  </li>
                  <li>
                     <p class="para_item">feeds_speeds.def - holds the information about the appearance of the Classification, Search Criteria and Search Result Dialogs for the machine database.</p>
                  </li>
               </ul>
               <p class="para_td">Each definition file contains two parts. The first part defines the DB_ALIASes. This is the part in which you define which attributes are to appear in your search criteria. The second part defines the type hierarchy. Here you set out the hierarchy as it appears in the Class Selection dialog.</p>

               <p class="para_td">These files contain a script in the TCL programming language controlling the functions found in the three dialogs. These files are called the event handlers and it is in these event handlers where other TCL files are included (&quot;sourced&quot;). </p>
