      <p class="para_topic">The Nine-Button Matrix performs a variety of functions including defining the tool movement, defining clearance geometry, and providing information about the non-cutting moves used in the current operation.</p>

      </table><br><p class="para_topic">The From, Gohome, Departure, Approach, Retract, Engage, and Traverse buttons are called the Move buttons. These buttons define the basic type of non-cutting tool movement. The Departure, Traverse, and Approach buttons are referred to as the Transfer buttons. They define the rapid non-cutting movements between Retracts and Engages.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">The availability of the Move buttons is determined by the selected Case. The Initial Case, for example, activates only the From, Traverse, Approach, and Engage buttons. The system restricts the use of Cases and Moves to only logical combinations.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">Each Move button has an associated set of Status options. The Status determines whether or not the associated Move will be used in the operation, and if used, what parameters will be applied to execute the move. The Clearance button becomes available when the Status is set to Clearance. The Information button is always available.</p>
