      <p class="para_topic">Tool groups define the cutting tools. You may create tool groups either by creating a tool from a template or by retrieving tools from a library.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Creating a Tool</div>
      <p class="para_division">The tool Types (templates) available in the Create Tool dialog box are determined by the specified CAM Setup (template part file). The Create button allows you to create a new tool based on the chosen tool subtype icon (template).</p>
      <p class="para_division">In the Create Tool dialog, choose the desired tool subtype icon (Mill, T-Cutter, Drill, etc.) and Create. This displays a tool parameter dialog box. Parameters for each type of tool are described in the following sections:  <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('mfggeneral/parent_mill_tool_param.html');return(false);">Milling Tool Parameters</a>,  <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('mfggeneral/parent_tools_drill.html');return(false);">Drilling Tools</a>, Holemaking Tools, and Turning Tools.

      <div class="title_division"> Material</div>
      <p class="para_division">This option is common to each tool parameters dialog box. It allows you to assign a material attribute to the tool as one of several parameters used to determine cutting feeds and speeds. Once this tool material as well as part material, cut method and cut depth have been specified, the Reset from Table button in the Feeds and Speeds dialog uses these parameters to recommend appropriate Surface Speed and Feed per Tooth values extracted from predefined tables.</p>
      <p class="para_division">The material specified using this option determines the Feeds and Speeds only for operations using this tool. The Material button displays a listing of available tool materials to choose from. The contents of this listing is determined by the Configuration File.</p>
