      <p class="para_topic">Chip Removal allows you to specify a type of increment for clearing or breaking chips as you drill. </p>
      <p class="para_topic">Use:</p>
      <ul>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item"><b>Constant&nbsp;&mdash;&nbsp;</b>The distance the tool moves forward in each move is the same for the entire drilling sequence. If the depth is not evenly divisible by the amount you enter here, the system simply makes the last drilling move shorter.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item"><b>Variable&nbsp;&mdash;&nbsp;</b>You can specify the number of times a tool should cut at a specific depth. If the sum of the increments is less than the total depth, the system repeats the last non-zero increment value until it reaches the total depth. If the sum of the increments exceeds the total depth, the system ignores the excess increments.
            </p>
         </li>
      </ul>
      <div class="title_division">Setting a Chip Removal Method</div>
      <ol type="1" start="1">
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Choose either <b class="uiTerm">Drill Deep</b> or <b class="uiTerm">Drill Break Chip</b> as the type of machine cycle on the drilling operation dialog.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select <b class="uiTerm">Simulated</b>.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Choose the <b class="uiTerm">Settings</b> icon <img align="bottom" src="graphics/icon_settings.gif" border="0"> to access the <b class="uiTerm">Cycle Parameters</b> dialog.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select the <b class="uiTerm">Chip Removal</b> tab.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select the <b class="uiTerm">Increment Type</b>.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">If you chose <b class="uiTerm">Variable</b> as the increment type, enter the number of cuts and the depth of each cut in the <b class="uiTerm">Number of Cuts</b> and <b class="uiTerm">Increment</b> fields.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Depending on which cycle type you have chosen:</p>
            <ul>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">For <b class="uiTerm">Drill Break Chip</b>, set the <b class="uiTerm">Departure Distance</b> to specify by how much the tool moves backwards after each cut.
                  </p>
               </li>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">For <b class="uiTerm">Drill Deep</b>, set the <b class="uiTerm">Safe Distance</b> to specify the distance to the material to which the tool will advance before each cutting motion begins (see <b class="literalText">D</b> below).
                  </p>
               </li>
            </ul>
            <p class="para_item">When using <b class="uiTerm">Drill Deep</b>, the drill tool cuts as follows:
            </p>

               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">Cuts to the specified increment depth (A)</p>
               </li>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">Retracts out of the drilled hole to the minimum clearance distance (B) from the start point (C)</p>
               </li>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">Returns to a position which is the safe distance away from the material at the hole depth formed by the previous step cut (D).</p>
               </li>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">Repeats these 3 steps until the desired depth is reached</p>
               </li>
            </ol>
         </li>
      </ol>

                  <p class="para_note_body">If an engage feed rate is defined, an extra engage motion is made before every cut motion to the next increment. </p>

      <p class="para_division">If you have specified a dwell, the system outputs the DELAY/ command after each move to incremental cut depth. It also outputs the DELAY/ command after it completes the drilling-to-depth and before the final move out of the drilled hole.</p>
