      <ul>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Add or modify machining parameters based on part material, tool material, and cut method.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Enter machining data for a specific library tool.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Import from the Feeds and Speeds Library.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Import known machining data from a comma separated value (csv) file.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Delete records.</p>

      <div class="title_division">Adding Machining Data Library Entries</div>
      <ol type="1" start="1">
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">From the menus, select Tools -&rarr; Edit Machining Data Libraries.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">On the Edit Machining Data Libraries dialog, Machining Data page, select a material from the Tool Material pull-down menu. </p>
            <p class="para_item">If you don't see the material you need, go to the Tool Material page.</p>
            <ol type="a" start="1">
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">Pick Insert to add a new material. </p>
               </li>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">Enter a name and description for the material. You can accept the default Library Reference or assign a different one. Note: The system won't accept a duplicate Library Reference.</p>
               </li>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">Return to the Machining Data page and select the new material.</p>
               </li>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">Select a cut method from the Cut Method pull-down menu. If you don't see the cut method you need, go to the Cut Method page and pick Insert to add it.</p>
               </li>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">Select a part material from the Part Material pull-down menu. If you don't see the part material you need, go to the Part Material page and pick Insert to add it.</p>
               </li>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">Select the Input Units.</p>
               </li>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">Pick Insert and fill in the appropriate fields on the Edit Machining Data Record dialog.</p>
                  <p class="para_item">Note:</p>
                  <ul>
                     <li>
                        <p class="para_item">The system assigns a unique Library Reference. You can change this to any unique identifier and the system checks for duplicates before saving the record.</p>
                     </li>
                     <li>
                        <p class="para_item">If you select a record on the Machining Data page before picking Insert, the selected record's values are copied to the new entry. You can use this feature to enter similar records more efficiently.</p>
                     </li>
                     <li>
                        <p class="para_item">You must assign values greater than zero for the Tool Diameter, Tool Length, Cut Depth, and Stepover parameters.</p>
                     </li>
                     <li>
                        <p class="para_item">You can define surface speed in two ways. Either enter the value directly in the Surface Speed field, or enter a Spindle Speed value and the surface speed will be calculated for you. (The Spindle Speed value isn't saved with the data record.)</p>
                     </li>
                     <li>
                        <p class="para_item">You can define the feed per tooth in two ways also. Either enter the value directly in the Feed per Tooth field, or define Cut Feedrate, Number of Flutes, and Feedrate Units. The feed per tooth is calculated for you. (The &nbsp;Cut Feedrate, Number of Flutes and Feedrate Units values aren't saved with the data record.)</p>
                     </li>
                     <li>
                        <p class="para_item">Pick OK to save the record and return to the Machining Data page. Or, pick Cancel to return to the Machining Data page without saving the record.</p>
                     </li>
                     <li>
                        <p class="para_item">When done, select OK or APPLY one last time to save the changes into the libraries. &nbsp;No data will be saved into any of the libraries until one of these two buttons is pressed.</p>
                     </li>
                  </ul>
               </li>
            </ol>
         </li>
      </ol>
      <div class="title_division">Adding Machining Data to Existing Tools from the Tool Library</div>
      <p class="para_division">You can assign machining values to tools in the Tool Library. These are stored in a separate library. If the system finds data stored for the library tool, it will apply those values, and not do any other calculations. If there aren't any Tool Machining Data entries, the system searches for other entries in the Machining Data Library. &nbsp;</p>

                  <p class="para_note_body">Use this method only when you always want a specific tool to use the same speed, feeds, depth of cut, and stepover values regardless of the part material or cut method.</p>

      <p class="para_division">To assign machining data to tools from the Tool Library:</p>
      <ol type="1" start="1">
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Pick the Tool Machining Data tab on the Edit Machining Data Libraries dialog.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select Insert.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select a tool class from the Library Class Selection dialog (for example: Milling, Thread Mill).</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select the tool. Either:</p>
            <ul>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">If you know the library reference, enter it in the Libref field and pick Enter.</p>
                  <p class="para_item">Or,</p>
               </li>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">Pick Enter to see a listing of available tools.</p>
               </li>
            </ul>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select the tool on the Search Result dialog and pick OK.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Enter the appropriate values on the Edit Machining Data Record dialog.</p>
            <p class="para_item">Note: The Library Reference field is inactive. You can't edit this value since it's a link to the Tool library.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Pick OK to save the record and return to the Machining Data page. Or, pick Cancel to return to the Machining Data page without saving the record.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">When done, select OK or APPLY one last time to save the changes into the libraries. &nbsp;No data is saved into any of the libraries until one of these two buttons is pressed.</p>
         </li>
      </ol>
      <div class="title_division">Importing Library Entries</div>
      <p class="para_division">You can either import from a text file or from the Feeds and Speeds Library.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Importing from a Text File</div>
      <p class="para_division">Use this when you have machining data stored in some other system, or other file, or use a spreadsheet to manage your machining data. For example, you may have machining data from a tooling supplier that you want to put in to the machining data library. The text file must be comma-delimited, and the field structure must match the field structure of the Machine Data Library. </p>
      <p class="para_division">A sample file called sample_machining_data.csv is located in UGII_CAM_LIBRARY_FEEDS_SPEEDS_ASCII_DIR. Prepare your data so that it matches the format of this file. </p>
      <p class="para_division">To import from a text file:</p>
      <ol type="1" start="1">
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Pick the Import tab on the Edit Machining Data Libraries dialog.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Pick Import Text File.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select the text file using the File Selection dialog.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Pick the Machining Data tab and review the entries you imported. </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">If the text file only had partial data, select each record and pick Modify to add the remaining values.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">When done, select OK or APPLY one last time to save the changes into the libraries. &nbsp;No data is saved into any of the libraries until one of these two buttons is pressed.</p>
         </li>
      </ol>
      <div class="title_division">Importing from the Feeds and Speeds Library</div>
      <p class="para_division">Importing from the Feeds and Speeds Library saves time creating records if you want to move data stored in the Feeds and Speeds library to the Machining Data library. To import from the Feeds and Speeds Library:</p>
      <ol type="1" start="1">
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Pick the Import tab on the Edit Machining Data Libraries dialog.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Pick Import Feeds and Speeds.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Pick the Machining Data tab.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select a part material, cut method, and tool material from the pull-down menus.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select a library record and pick Modify. </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">On the Edit Machining Data Record dialog, add the missing values, such as tool diameter and length.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Pick OK to save the record and return to the Machining Data page.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">When done, select OK or APPLY one last time to save the changes into the libraries. &nbsp;No data is saved into any of the libraries until one of these two buttons is pressed.</p>
         </li>
      </ol>
      <div class="title_division">Modifying Library Records</div>
      <p class="para_division">To modify machining data records:</p>
      <ol type="1" start="1">
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">On the Edit Machining Data Libraries dialog, Machining Data page, select a material from the Tool Material pull-down menu. </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select a cut method from the Cut Method pull-down menu.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select a part material from the Part Material pull-down menu.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select the Input Units.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select a record.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Pick Modify and fill in the appropriate fields on the Edit Machining Data Record dialog.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Pick OK to save the record and return to the Machining Data page. Or, pick Cancel to return to the Machining Data page without saving the record.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">When done, select OK or APPLY one last time to save the changes into the libraries. &nbsp;No data will be saved into any of the libraries until one of these two buttons is pressed.</p>
         </li>
      </ol>
      <p class="para_division">To modify Cut Method, Tool Material, Part Material, Tool Machining Data or Machines:</p>
      <ol type="1" start="1">
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select the tab for the desired library page.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">For Tool Machining Data, select the input units.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select a record.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Pick Modify and fill in the appropriate fields on the edit dialog.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Pick OK to save the record and return to the library page. Or, pick Cancel to return to the library page without saving the record.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">When done, select OK or APPLY one last time to save the changes into the libraries. &nbsp;No data is saved into any of the libraries until one of these two buttons is pressed.</p>
         </li>
      </ol>

      <p class="para_division">To delete from the library:</p>

            <p class="para_item">Select the tab for the desired library page.</p>

         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Pick Delete.</p>

Select YES to continue, or NO to cancel the Delete. &nbsp;</p>

                  <p class="para_warning_body">Warning - If you delete records by mistake, and want to restore them, you must Cancel out of the Machining Data Library editor. You will lose all edits that you made since the last time you selected Apply.</p>

                  <p class="para_note_body">The Cut Method, Tool Material and Part Material libraries must each contain at least one entry. You can't create a Machine Data record without this information. If you attempt to delete the last record in any of these libraries, you get a warning message, and the delete attempt will be ignored. </p>
