      </table><br><p class="para_topic">Use custom stock/offset to apply stock to certain specified portions of the part surface for subsequent grinding, finishing, and test cuts. Use it also to offset part surfaces to account for tolerance values set at the design stage.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">Turning distinguishes between stock/offset set at the geometry level and that set at the operation level:</p>
      <ul>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item"><b class="uiTerm">Stock</b> - stock set at the operation level. This value applies only to the operation in which it is set. 
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item"><b class="uiTerm">Offset</b> - stock set at the geometry level. This value applies to all operations contained in the geometry group. &nbsp;
            </p>
         </li>

      <p class="para_topic">The Turning module offers you four different types of stock/offset:</p>
      <ul>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item"><b>General stock/offset&nbsp;&mdash;&nbsp;</b>This option provides you with a flexible way to define offset values or stock values for individual portions of the part surface.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item"><b>Tolerance offset&nbsp;&mdash;&nbsp;</b>This option provides you with control over the dimensions of the design model &nbsp;in manufacturing, allowing you to specify positive or negative tolerance values for specific segments of the part boundary. You can only set tolerance offset at the geometry group level.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item"><b>Legacy stock/offset&nbsp;&mdash;&nbsp;</b>This option is required for compatibility to earlier software versions. You can set legacy stock and legacy offset. This delivers the same corner treatment as in previous software versions.

         <li>
            <p class="para_item"><b>Fine finish stock/offset&nbsp;&mdash;&nbsp;</b>This member-specific stock/offset is best suited for subsequent finishing or grinding. Fine finish stock/offset values must be positive and you can specify them at both the geometry group and operation levels.
            </p>
         </li>
      </ul>
      <p class="para_topic">Turning provides you with visual assistance when stocking. When you use the <b class="uiTerm">Preview</b> option, you can see an outline of the stock/offset you have set, as well as the following indicators:
