      <p class="para_topic">In the following steps, you will create the Face Mill operation illustrated below for the top of the Part. This operation will inherit geometry parameters from the WORKPIECE and TOP groups.</p>

            <p class="para_item">In the Geometry view of the Operation Navigator, choose the TOP group and choose MB3, Object&gt;Switch Layer/Layout to retrieve the two view layout saved with the TOP group.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Choose the Create Operation icon (a below) in the main menu to display the Create Operation dialog box.</p>
         </li>
      </ul>

            <p class="para_item">Choose the FACE_MILLING icon (b above).</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Specify the parent groups for the operation (c above).</p>

      <p class="para_topic">You may check or modify the parameters of any group by displaying the appropriate view of the Operation Navigator and double-clicking on the group to display the group dialog box.</p>

            <p class="para_item">Choose OK (d above). This displays the operation dialog box which enables you to define the remaining operation parameters. Because you did not specify a name for this operation, the system named it FACE_MILLING.</p>
         </li>
      </ul>

         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Choose the Face toggle (if it is not already chosen) and Select. This displays the Face Geometry dialog box. Remember, you do not need to define Part geometry because it has already been defined in the WORKPIECE group.</p>

         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Choose the Curve Boundary (a below) button and then select the four edges illustrated below.</p>
         </li>
      </ul>

            <p class="para_item">Choose OK to complete the definition of the face geometry and return you to the FACE_MILLING parameters dialog box.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Choose Follow Periphery as the Cut Method.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Choose Generate.</p>
         </li>
      </ul>

      <p class="para_topic">Look at the Geometry view of the Operation Navigator illustrated below and notice how the FACE_MILLING operation is contained within the TOP parent geometry group. The operation inherits parameters from both the WORKPIECE and TOP groups. Also notice that the operation is preceded by an exclamation mark (!). This means that the tool path has been generated but never output. Once you choose MB3, Output&gt;CL Source File, the operation will be preceded by a check mark indicating that it has been generated and output (postprocessed or output to CLS).</p>
