      </table><br><p class="para_topic">You can use the Machining Data Library to set parameters in an operation as follows:</p>
      <ul>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">set the machining data from the Feedrates dialog </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">set the machining data from the Operation Navigator</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">automatically update the machining data</p>
         </li>

      <div class="title_division">Setting from the Feed and Speeds Dialog</div>
      <p class="para_division">To set machining data from an operation:</p>
      <ol type="1" start="1">
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Create a new operation or edit an existing operation.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">If necessary, select a tool for the operation.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Pick Feed Rates on the main operation dialog.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">On the Feed and Speeds dialog, pick Set Machining Data.</p>
         </li>

      <div class="title_division">Customizing an Operation Dialog to Set Machining Data</div>
      <p class="para_division">For convenience, the set machining data button is a customizable item that can be added to the main operation dialog.</p>

      <div class="title_division">Setting Machining Data from the Operation Navigator</div>
      <p class="para_division">To set machining data from the Operation Navigator:</p>
      <ol type="1" start="1">
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Go to the Operation Navigator Tree. </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Right-click on the operation and select Object -&rarr; Set Machining Data.</p>
         </li>
      </ol>
      <div class="title_division">Automatically Updating Machining Data</div>
      <p class="para_division">To ensure that machining data is always updated from the library, go to Preferences -&rarr; Manufacturing -&rarr; Operation and turn Automatically Set Machining Data on.</p>
      <p class="para_division">When an operation is created, if the part material, tool material, tool diameter, tool length, and cut method are defined, the machining parameters are calculated and set automatically, just as if you had picked the &quot;Set Machining Data&quot; button in the Feed and Speeds dialog. Whenever one of the input parameters changes, the parameters are set again from the library. For example, if you change the tool diameter, all the parameters are recalculated. </p>
      <p class="para_division">If you override a value in the operation, this is lost when the data is reset from the library. </p>
