      <p class="para_topic">The collision processor takes pairs of components and/or classes and checks these pairs for collision. You can select any component, user class or predefined class found in your kinematics model. </p>
      <p class="para_topic">Configure the collision checker as follows:</p>
      <ol type="1" start="1">
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Open the <b class="uiTerm">Collision Configuration</b> dialog. There are two ways to do this:
            </p>
            <ol type="a" start="1">
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">MB3 on the operation in the <b class="uiTerm">Operation Navigator</b>. Select <b class="uiTerm">Tool Path</b> &rarr; <b class="uiTerm">Simulate</b>. This opens the <b class="uiTerm">Simulation Control Panel</b>.
                  </p>
               </li>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">Select <b class="uiTerm">Options</b>. This opens the <b class="uiTerm">Simulation Options</b> dialog.
                  </p>
               </li>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">Activate <b class="uiTerm">Collision</b>.
                  </p>
               </li>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">Choose <b class="uiTerm">Select Pairs</b> <img align="bottom" src="graphics/select_pairs.gif" border="0">.
                  </p>
               </li>
            </ol>
            <p class="para_item">or </p>
            <ol type="a" start="1">
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">MB3 in the background of the <b class="uiTerm">Setup Configurator</b>. 
                  </p>
               </li>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">Select <b class="uiTerm">Simulation Option</b>s. The <b class="uiTerm">Simulation Options</b> dialog opens.
                  </p>
               </li>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">Choose <b class="uiTerm">Select Pairs</b>.
                  </p>
               </li>
            </ol>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Activate the first step icon in the <b class="uiTerm">Selection Step</b> section.  <img align="bottom" src="graphics/icons_selection_steps.gif" border="0"> 
            </p>
         </li>

            <p class="para_item">Select the first component. You can do this by:</p>
            <ul>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">Using the <b class="uiTerm">Filter</b> and <b class="uiTerm">Name</b> buttons in the dialog.
                  </p>
               </li>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">Selecting an item in the graphics window.</p>
               </li>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">Clicking on the desired element in the <b class="uiTerm">Machine Tool Navigator</b>, if the <b class="uiTerm">Setup Configurator</b> is open.
                  </p>
               </li>
            </ul>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select the second step icon  <img align="bottom" src="graphics/icons_selection_steps_2.gif" border="0"> or move from the first step icon to the second step icon with MB2.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Repeat step 3 to select the second component.</p>
         </li>
      </ol>

               <p class="para_td"><b class="uiTerm">Filter</b></p>
            </td>
            <td colspan="1" rowspan="1">
               <p class="para_td">Assists your selection of elements in the simulation. You can apply a filter that allows you to select only components or only classes. The classes are the classes that you  <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('mfgisv/mfgisv_creat_class_k_comps.html');return(false);">assigned in the machine tool builder.</a></p>

               <p class="para_td"><b class="uiTerm">Name</b></p>
            </td>
            <td colspan="1" rowspan="1">
               <p class="para_td">Shows a list of names of components or classes. If the filter is set to <b class="uiTerm">Component</b>, this option menu shows a list of all the K-components of this machine. Selecting the name of a component from the option menu highlights the component in the graphics window. Picking a component in the graphics window shows the name of the selected component in the option menu.
               </p>
               <p class="para_td">If the filter setting is <b class="uiTerm">Class</b>, all system and user-defined classes are shown. Selecting the name of a class from the option menu highlights all components of this class in the graphics window. 
               </p>
               <p class="para_td">You cannot pick a component in the graphics window while the filter is set to <b class="uiTerm">Class</b>, as a single component can be a member of more than one class.
               </p>
            </td>

               <p class="para_td"><b class="uiTerm">Collision Clearance</b></p>
            </td>
            <td colspan="1" rowspan="1">
               <p class="para_td">Represents the distance below which a collision is indicated. This value is in the same units as your part.</p>
            </td>

            <td colspan="1" rowspan="1">
               <p class="para_td">List box showing Object 1, Object 2 and Clearance</p>
            </td>
            <td colspan="1" rowspan="1">
               <p class="para_td">Shows the defined collision pairs. <b class="uiTerm">Object1</b> and <b class="uiTerm">Object2</b> show the names of the components. If one of the members of a pair is a class, then the name is preceded by the keyword class.
               </p>
               <p class="para_td">Each pair can be either active or inactive. An active state is shown by a small check mark. To inactivate a collision pair, click on the check box. The collision clearance you assigned each pair also appears in this list box.</p>

               <p class="para_td">Remove a pair of elements from the collision check by highlighting the pair in the list box above and selecting remove.</p>
