      <p class="para_topic">With Text Engraving, you can machine drafting text, such as part numbers and mold cavity ID numbers, directly on the part. Use Text Engraving with Planar Milling and Surface Contouring.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">Text Engraving is much easier than previous methods of converting text to geometry because, unlike many Grip programs that do engraving, this also is fully associative to the drafting note. &nbsp;Therefore, you can apply changes by regenerating the operation. </p>
      <div class="title_division">Using Text Engraving</div>
      <p class="para_division">To use this feature you must select an existing drafting annotation. If you need to create the text, from the main menu bar use Insert &rarr; Annotation to create a Drafting note. You can edit existing notes using Edit &rarr; Text. Then you can select the note for cutting in either Planar Milling or Surface Contouring. </p>
      <p class="para_division">To engrave text:</p>
      <ol type="1" start="1">
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">If necessary, create a note. </p>
            <ul>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">From the main menu bar, go to Insert &rarr; Annotation.</p>
               </li>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">Enter your text in the text box. &nbsp;Do not create your text with a leader. </p>
               </li>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">To transfer this text to your part, point to the desired location on your part, and then click. &nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
               </li>
            </ul>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Create a group. </p>
            <p class="para_item">&nbsp;Go to create geometry  <img align="bottom" src="graphics/create_geometry.gif" border="0"> , mill_planar type &rarr; mill_text group &nbsp; <img align="bottom" src="graphics/mill_text.gif" border="0"> &nbsp;.

         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Create the operation.</p>
            <p class="para_item">Go to create operation  <img align="bottom" src="graphics/create_operation.gif" border="0">:

                  <p class="para_item">For planar text, select the mill_planar type &rarr; planar_text operation  <img align="bottom" src="graphics/planar_text.gif" border="0">. &nbsp;

      <p class="para_division">The text depth is the distance below the floor plane that you wish to cut. &nbsp;</p>

            <p class="para_item">General Text Engraving Notes</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Several fonts use multiple strokes to fill in a solid area on a character. These depend on a minimum pen size for coverage. If a cutter with too small of a tip diameter is used for these fonts, the areas between the strokes may not be cut. </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">If you set the text depth/part stock so that the tool cuts below the part surface, the gouge checker reports the moves as gouges. &nbsp;</p>
