      <p class="para_topic">In the figure below, the tool cannot cut the entire part because the tool is not long enough, and the &nbsp;tool holder would collide with the part. &nbsp;Therefore, it is necessary to cut the remaining material with a longer tool. </p>

      <p class="para_topic">By saving the 2D IPW (see the figure below), the second operation, which uses the longer tool, knows the exact location of this remaining material.</p>

      <p class="para_topic">In the figure above, the white lines indicate the material that the first operation was unable to cut. &nbsp;The second operation uses this saved 2D IPW to finish the cutting--it starts cutting right where the first operation left off. &nbsp;In the figure below, the longer cutter means that the tool holder does not collide with the part. &nbsp;Therefore, the remaining material is machined. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
