      <p class="para_topic">This option allows for different methods of surface checking:</p>
      <div class="title_division">Offset</div>
      <p class="para_division">Zig-Zag Surface allows you to offset the tool from the surface or surface features (e.g., holes) by the radius of the tool. The tool is further offset by the value specified in Stock under the Select Surface menu.</p>
      <p class="para_division">Offset must be ON to utilize a tool radius offset or a specified Stock value. (The intent of this option is to allow roughing of cavity areas where the tool axis is 0,0,1.) When Offset is ON, the system keeps the tool within the cut boundary limits. The tool is tangent to the surface edge or hole boundary.</p>
      <p class="para_division">Offset OFF causes the tool contact points to be on the surface edge or hole boundary.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Gouge Check</div>
      <p class="para_division">Gouge Check ON causes the system to ensure that the surface is not undercut. Gouge Check operates as a toggle (ON/OFF) with the default value of OFF.</p>

      <div class="title_figure">Gouge Checking</div>
      <p class="para_division">Gouge checking is surface based. The system checks the position of the tool relative to the part surface at each contact point and determines if the tool will gouge the surface. If so, then the system action depends upon the Avoid Method setting.</p>
