      <p class="para_topic">Plunge allows you to define grooves by entering numeric values and does not require any modeled geometry. The following options are available.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Plunge Geometry</div>
      <p class="para_division">Plunge Geometry enables you to define the Start Point: the point at which the specified grooving tool location (right corner, left corner, or center) first contacts the part and begins cutting. The Select button displays the Point Subfunction and enables you to define the start point..</p>

      <p class="para_division">The Verify button displays an information window listing all of the parameters for the current operation.</p>
      <p class="para_division">The Display button displays the current position of the Start and End Point for visual reference.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Side to Cut</div>
      <p class="para_division">Side to Cut allows you to specify the side of the Start Point on which you wish the groove to occur. You may specify Left of Point, Right Of Point, or On Point.</p>

      <p class="para_division">You can specify the depth and orientation of the groove by selecting a line or by entering depth information.</p>
      <p class="para_division">Select Line enables you to select an existing line. The system uses the length and angle of the line to determine the groove depth and orientation. The system applies the length and angle values beginning at the Start Point.</p>

      <p class="para_division">If the specified depth is greater than the Max Depth specified in the definition of the groove tool, then an appropriate warning message displays. You are not required to alter the tool in order to generate a path, however you can respecify the tool.</p>
      <p class="para_division">Enter Depth/Angle determines the direction and depth of the groove. Positive and negative values are valid.</p>
      <p class="para_division">Depth - A positive Distance value causes the direction of groove cut to be the same as the direction established by the angle. A negative distance value causes the direction of groove cut to be opposite to the direction established by the input angle.</p>
      <p class="para_division">Angle - Positive Angles are measured counterclockwise from the positive XM axis of the Machine Coordinate System (MCS), and negative angles are measured clockwise from the positive XM axis.</p>
      <p class="para_division">Specify Point allows you to specify the End Point of the groove using the Point Subfunction. End Point refers to the graphic location of the bottom of the groove.</p>
      <p class="para_division">When the groove End Point is defined, the angle and distance between the start and end points determine the orientation and depth of the groove.</p>

      <p class="para_division">The following figure illustrates how the Start Point, End Point and Plunge Offset options are used to create various grooves.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Plunge Offset</div>
      <p class="para_division">Plunge Offset allows you to specify the number of plunge cuts in a single groove or in a series of grooves.</p>
      <p class="para_division">Number of Plunges - is the number of times the tool is to plunge cut the part to remove material. The # Plunges values must be whole positive numbers (i.e., no decimals.)</p>

      <div class="title_figure">Using # of Plunges and X Offset to Create Various Grooves</div>
      <p class="para_division">X Offset and Y Offset are the values used to offset the distance from the Start Point along the XM and YM axes, respectively, for subsequent groove cuts. The direction of the offset is controlled by the Machine Coordinate System (MCS.) Positive offsets are carried out in the positive MCS direction of the referenced axis and vice versa.</p>

      <div class="title_figure">Plunge Grooving Using Plunge Offset, Number of Plunges</div>
      <div class="title_division">Corner Control</div>
      <p class="para_division">Corner Control allows you control whether the tool cuts a round, chamfer, or sharp edge on the left and right corner of your groove. In Plunge grooving, if you are cutting multiple grooves (the Offset is greater than the width of the tool), the system applies this option to every groove. If you are cutting a single groove (the Offset is less than or equal to the width of the tool), the system applies the corner cut on each shoulder of the groove.</p>
      <p class="para_division">These options are similar to those used in Lathe Rough. Refer to Corner Control under Lathe Rough for details.</p>
