If you move the MCS, you re-establish the base location for the subsequent tool path output points.

                        <p class="para_item"><b class="uiTerm">Purpose</b> designates the coordinate system as <b class="uiTerm">Main</b> or <b class="uiTerm">Local</b>. By default, all coordinate systems are local. In some types of programming, such as fixture offsets, you need to define a main coordinate system at the center of rotation of the machine tool. Then you create local coordinate systems under the main coordinate system in the Geometry View to represent each fixture offset location. 
                        </p>

                                 <p class="para_td"><b class="uiTerm">CSYS Rotation</b> only supports coordinate system functions such as G68.1, cycle  19, and G125 for orthogonal head and table positioning on common mill/turn B/C  machine tools. For all other machine tools, use the fixture offset MSYS type.

                        <p class="para_item"><b class="uiTerm">Fixture Offset</b> specifies the fixture offset number for machines that use a fixture offset. Each part orientation on the machine corresponds to a specific MCS, and thus a specific fixture offset value. The software loads the fixture offset value into MOM_post during output to create the appropriate G code.
                        </p>

                        <p class="para_item"><b class="uiTerm">Save MCS</b> creates a coordinate system entity based on the current MCS. This is useful if you need to select this as your WCS.

If <b class="uiTerm">Link MCS/RCS</b> is off, then the software uses the on/off setting in the MCS template. If the preference is on, the software overrides the setting in the MCS template and sets the MCS/RCS link to on. (<b class="uiTerm">Preferences</b>&rarr;<b class="uiTerm">Manufacturing</b>.)

                  <p class="para_td">The system uses the Reference Coordinate System (<a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('mfggeneral/parent_geom_rcs.html');return(false);">RCS</a>) to relocate non-modeled geometric parameters (i.e. tool axis vectors, clearance planes, etc.) when you move the area being machined from one section of a part to another. This eliminates respecification of such parameters by allowing the retrieval and mapping of stored parameters.
