      <p class="para_topic">The step angle is measured counter-clockwise from the centerline and defines the orientation and the direction of progress for the plunge cuts. Each individual plunge cut is perpendicular to the step angle line and performed at the next increment in the direction of the step angle line.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">For your convenience, an arrow indicator,  <img align="bottom" src="graphics/rose045.gif" border="0">, has been provided to visually present the cutting orientation you have chosen. A step angle of 0 coincides with the direction of the positive centerline axis, so that the progress of the plunge stepover would be from left to right and each plunge cut perpendicular to the centerline. Examples for step angle settings are illustrated in the following figure:

      <p class="para_topic">For grooving tools, the system will raise a warning whenever the tool axis (defined through the tool's orientation angle) is not aligned with the plunge cut orientation as defined through step angle.</p>
