      <p class="para_topic">Number Of Starts describes the number of start positions for the thread.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">A single thread has a Pitch which is equal to the Lead, and has one thread start position.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">A double thread has a Lead which is twice the distance of the Pitch, and has two thread starting positions 180_ apart.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">A triple thread has a Lead which is three times the distance of the Pitch, and has three starting positions 120_ apart, etc. The longer Lead of a double thread provides for a &quot;faster&quot; thread, covering twice the longitudinal distance per turn of a single thread.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">Multiple threads are incorporated in some jigs and fixtures, fountain pen caps, awnings, etc. in order to minimize hand motion.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">The system default is 1, which indicates a single lead thread.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">The following figure illustrates Number of Starts for multiple threading. The second start position is the Pitch distance away from the first start position. The Lead for a double thread is twice the Pitch. Therefore, in the first revolution the tool enters the part 180 degrees away from the 1st start position.</p>
