      <p class="para_topic">You can export tools that you build in your CAM session to the cutting tool library. These tools are written into the ASCII file, <b class="literalText">tool_database.dat</b>. If you assign a holder to your tool, the software saves a reference to this tool holder with the tool. The next time you retrieve this tool, the holder is retrieved with it. If the tool holder is new or modified, it is saved to the holder library. You can also save a meaningful description of your tool that is available each time you reload the tool.

      <p class="para_topic">To export a tool to the cutting tool library:</p>

            <p class="para_item">Fill in the parameters in the tool dialog. </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Choose <b class="uiTerm">Export Tool to Library</b>.

                        <p class="para_note_body">This button is a customizable item on the tool dialog. To see this option in the tool dialog, right-click on the tool in the <b class="uiTerm">Operation Navigator</b> and choose <b class="uiTerm">Object</b> &rarr; <b class="uiTerm">Customize from</b> and update the dialog item from the current template; or customize the dialogs and add the option.                   <p class="para_item">If the current tool library reference (<b class="literalText">libref</b>) already exists in the library, you must either replace the existing definition or create a new tool. If you select <b class="uiTerm">Replace</b> and no data differs from the data in the dialog, the tool is not exported.
                  </p>

               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">If you enter a new library reference, the software saves the new tool under this reference in the library.</p>
               </li>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">If you do not enter a library reference, the software uses the next available library reference number in the tool library.</p>
               </li>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">The system ignores the ZMOUNT parameter when exporting to the tool library.</p>
               </li>
            </ul>

         <li>
            <p class="para_item">If you are creating a new tool and it is not clear in which tool class it belongs, the software opens the <b class="uiTerm">Library Class Selection</b> dialog. Select the NX Library class and subclass.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">If you have not filled in all the required parameters, the systems prompts you to fill in the missing fields.</p>
         </li>
      </ol>
