      <p class="para_topic">In Down Only mode, you can use Stop At to specify the distance to the opposite shoulder where you want the cutter to stop the first profiling pass. For other modes, you can specify a distance from the endpoint of the current cutting pass (diameter/face) at which the tool should terminate cutting. </p>
      <p class="para_topic">To access the Stop At settings, activate the toggle button, then click on Settings. This brings up the Stop At Dialog.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">Set a Stop At by</p>
      <ul>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">specifying distance values by using absolute (inch or mm) values or a percentage value. A distance of 0 units (inch/mm) or 0% continues the first path until the tool is positioned tangent to the start point of the opposite shoulder.</p>
         </li>
      </ul>
      <ul>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">creating a smart point to define the position where the tool stops the first profile pass and transitions to the second pass, which cuts in the opposite direction. </p>
         </li>
      </ul>
      <p class="para_topic">In case of multiple reversals, this strategy is applied to each individual reversal. </p>

      <p class="para_division">Overlap is only available for Down Only. You can specify an overlap at that point where both downward passes meet - either at the Stop At point, if set, or at the end of the first pass if no Stop At has been set.</p>

      <p class="para_division">You may specify the Overlap value as an absolute distance (inch/mm) or as percentage of the tool width (for  <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('mfgturning/turn_tool_groove.html');return(false);">grooving tools</a>) and tool radius (for  <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('mfgturning/turning_turn_tool_std.html');return(false);">standard turning tools</a> and  <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('mfgturning/turn_tool_form.html');return(false);">form tools</a>):

      <div class="title_figure">Inversely Oriented Passes with Positive Overlap (Strategy Down Only)</div>
      <p class="para_division">A negative Overlap value creates a gap in the tool path. This is useful when using a standard grooving tool whose entire width removes material. When the tool makes its second pass, the material at the end of this pass has already been removed by the first pass, and that part of the boundary does not need to be machined again.</p>
