      <p class="para_topic">The Projection Vector option allows you to define a vector for projecting selected points that are not on the Part Surface onto the Part Surface. Use the Vector Subfunction to define a vector or Tool Axis to project all selected points along the Tool Axis.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">The projection vector is used only when a Part Surface is active. When the Part Surface is not active, the system does not project the points you select.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">If a Part Surface is active but a projection vector is not active, the system projects the selected points along the work coordinate ZC axis. Similarly, if a Part Surface is active, the Projection Vector is the same as the Tool Axis, and the Tool Axis is not active, the system projects the selected points along the work coordinate ZC axis.</p>

      <p class="para_topic">If you select a surface or solid face for the Part Surface or Bottom Surface, each point is projected along the Projection Vector onto the Part Surface. For Part Surfaces where there is more than one possible projection of a point (such as projecting a point onto a cylinder), the most extreme projection (farthest) along the vector is used. The closest projection can be used by flipping the direction of the projection vector.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">If the projected point does not lie on the Part Surface, the warning message TOOL CANNOT CONTACT SURFACE is output to the tool path.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">If the projection is successful, the projected point is then projected onto the Bottom Surface. If the projected point does not lie on the Bottom Surface, the warning message TOOL CANNOT CONTACT SURFACE is output to the tool path.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">If a warning message is output to the tool path for any of the points, the message WARNINGS GENERATED is displayed on the message monitor.</p>
