      <p class="para_topic">Sequential Milling is designed to machine a series of edge-to-edge surfaces in succession. It is used to finish surfaces once the area has been roughed out using Planar or Cavity Milling. Sequential Milling allows you to carefully follow surface contours using three, four, or five axis tool movements while exercising a high degree of control over each sub-operation of the tool path.</p>

      <p class="para_topic">Sequential Mill displays the main dialog boxes listed below. Each is discussed in detail in the following sections.</p>

      </table><br><p class="para_topic">In Sequential Milling, operations consist of sub-operations. Sub-operations are individual tool motions which together form a complete tool path. The first sub-operation utilizes the Engage Motion dialog box to create a tool motion from the Start Point or the Engage Point to the initial cut position. The following sub-operations utilize the Continuous Path Motion dialog box to create a sequence of cuts from one drive surface to the next, the Retract Motion dialog box to create a non-cutting movement away from the part, and the Point to Point Motion dialog box to traverse between retracts and engages.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">Each sub-operation requires you to position the tool to the near side, the far side, or directly on the Drive, Part, and Check surfaces. Whether the tool is on the near side or far side of a surface is determined by the position of the Reference Point which you define in the Engage Motion dialog box.</p>

      <p class="para_topic">The Drive, Part, and Check Surfaces are described as follows.</p>

            <p class="para_item">The Drive Surface guides the side of the tool.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">The Part Surface guides the bottom of the tool</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">The Check Surface stops tool motion.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">The tool is in continuous contact with the Drive and Part Surfaces.</p>
         </li>
      </ul>
      <div class="title_division">A Special Case:</div>
      <ol type="1" start="1">
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Specify Sequential Mill from the Operation Manager dialog.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Specify an operation name.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Specify a tool.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Specify the operation parameters in the Sequential Mill dialog for the entire operation. These remain in effect for subsequent sub-operations.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">(optional) Specify Point to Point motion to initialize the tool's position and orientation in space.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Specify Engage Motion to move the tool to its initial cutting position. Specify the tool stopping position with respect to the Drive, Part and Check Surface.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Specify Continuous Path Motion for the next sub-operation(s) by respecifying the Drive, Part, and Check Surfaces. The tool cuts along the intersection of the Drive and Part Surfaces until it reaches the Check Surface.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Specify Retract Motion to move the tool away from contact with the part.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">(Optional) Specify Point to Point Motion to make noncutting moves to the next area where cutting is to occur.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">(Optional) Repeat steps 6-8 or 6-9.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Specify End Operation to complete the operation.</p>
         </li>
      </ol>

                  <p class="para_note_body"> NOTE: Pressing Cancel from any Sequential Mill dialog produces a confirmation dialog. You must indicate whether you want to terminate the operation. If you select OK in the confirmation dialog, all work done in this operation is discarded. If you select Cancel in the confirmation dialog, you will return to the nearest principal dialog and will be allowed to continue defining the operation.</p>

      <div class="title_division">Tool Definition</div>
      <p class="para_division">Sequential Mill doesn't use the ball mill tool definition. To use a ball mill tool, define an end mill tool with a ball radius.</p>
