            <p class="para_item">Open the part file that contains the tool model. This can be a single solid body or an assembly.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Start Manufacturing with a <b class="uiTerm">Solid_tool</b> setup.

                  <p class="para_item">In the <b class="uiTerm">Machining Environment</b> dialog box, in the <b class="uiTerm">CAM Session Configuration</b> list, select <b class="uiTerm">cam_general</b>.

                  <p class="para_item">In the <b class="uiTerm">CAM Setup</b> list, select <b class="uiTerm">Solid_tool</b>.
                  </p>
               </li>

                  <p class="para_item">Click <b class="uiTerm">Initialize</b>.

            <p class="para_item">On the <b class="uiTerm">Manufacturing Create</b> toolbar, click <b class="uiTerm">Create Tool</b> <img align="bottom" src="../graphic_library/icons/dialogs/manufacturing/common/create_new_tool.gif" border="0">.
            </p>

            <p class="para_item">In the <b class="uiTerm">Create Tool</b> dialog box, in the <b class="uiTerm">Type</b> list, select <b class="uiTerm">solid_tool</b>. In the <b class="uiTerm">Tool Subtype</b> group, click <b class="uiTerm">GENERIC</b> <img align="bottom" src="graphics/mfg_solid_tool_generic.gif" border="0"> or<b class="uiTerm">PROBE</b> <img align="bottom" src="graphics/mfg_solid_tool_probe.gif" border="0">.

            <p class="para_item">In the <b class="uiTerm">Location</b> group, select <b class="uiTerm">Generic Machine</b>, <b class="uiTerm">None</b> or a pre-defined machine.
            </p>

            <p class="para_item">In the <b class="uiTerm">Name</b> group, type a name for the tool you are creating. This is the name that appears in the Operation Navigator and has a 30 character limit.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Click <b class="uiTerm">OK</b>. 
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">In the <b class="uiTerm">Generic Solid Tool</b> or <b class="uiTerm">Probe Tool</b> dialog box, click the <b class="uiTerm">Tool</b> tab.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">In the <b class="uiTerm">Mounting Junction</b> group, define the mounting junction to determine the location and orientation of the solid tool in relation to the machine tool.
            </p>
            <p class="para_item">Select the CSYS in the graphics window, or click <b class="uiTerm">CSYS Dialog</b> <img align="bottom" src="../graphic_library/icons/dialogs/gateway/common/csys_dialog.gif" border="0"> and then select the coordinate system located at the mounting face of the generic tool or probe tool.

            <p class="para_item">In the <b class="uiTerm">Description</b> box, enter a description of 132 characters or less.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Click <b class="uiTerm">Material</b> <img align="bottom" src="../graphic_library/icons/dialogs/manufacturing/common/edit.gif" border="0"> and select a material from the <b class="uiTerm">Tool Material</b> list.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Define the tracking point.</p>

                  <p class="para_item">Click the <b class="uiTerm">Tracking</b> tab.
                  </p>
               </li>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">Define the tracking point name using up to 132 characters.</p>
               </li>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">Select the tracking point.</p>
                  <p class="para_item">Valid geometry is the face of a tool end or the sphere on a probe. This must be physical geometry. The inferred geometry options are not available.</p>
               </li>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">(Probes only) Define the stem.</p>

                  <p class="para_item">(Optional) Enter <b class="uiTerm">Adjust</b> and <b class="uiTerm">Cutcom Register</b> values if you require them for programming.
                  </p>
                  <p class="para_item"><b class="uiTerm">Offset Values</b> are not required.
                  </p>

               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">(Optional) Click <b class="uiTerm">Add New Set</b> <img align="bottom" src="../graphic_library/icons/dialogs/modeling/common/add_new_set.gif" border="0"> to add more tracking points.
                  </p>
                  <p class="para_item">The list shows you the existing tracking points.</p>

            </ol>

         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Click the <b class="uiTerm">Tool</b> tab.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">(Optional) In the <b class="uiTerm">Information</b> group, in the <b class="uiTerm">Catalog Number</b> box, enter a reference number of 132 characters or less.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">In the <b class="uiTerm">Library</b> group, enter a unique <b class="uiTerm">Library Reference</b> name or leave the box blank and NX will assign a name.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Click <b class="uiTerm">Export Tool to Library</b> <img align="bottom" src="graphics/mfg_export_tool_to_library.gif" border="0">.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">In the <b class="uiTerm">Template Attributes</b> dialog box, select a number from the <b class="uiTerm">Holder</b> list.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Click <b class="uiTerm">OK</b>.
            </p>
            <p class="para_item">NX copies the entire part file or assembly to the tool library graphics area, and creates a tool data record that references the graphics file.</p>
            <p class="para_item">You may also want to save the part file for future reference or changes.</p>
