      </table><br><p class="para_topic">The system handles engage and retract for local return moves as follows:</p>
      <ul>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">The system uses an automatic procedure that tries to find a safe retract direction based on the tool's parameters. It is always linear.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">The engage move is always the same as the reversed retract move. </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Engage length always equals retract length.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">The following length parameter is used as the engage/retract length:</p>
            <ul>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">For all roughing except plunge roughing &mdash; the level safe engage length</p>
               </li>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">For plunge roughing &mdash; the plunge retract length</p>
               </li>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">For finishing &mdash; the profiling retract length.</p>
               </li>
            </ul>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">If the above criteria lead to a length of zero, the system calculates an engage/retract length based on the tool's parameters.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">If the system cannot compute a direction automatically, it uses the direction specified in the corresponding engage/retract parameter above.</p>
         </li>
      </ul>
