      <div class="title_division">2D Contact Contour Machining</div>
      <p class="para_division">2D Contact Contour Machining is for Milling, Planar Profile operations only. &nbsp;&nbsp;2D Contact Contour Machining allows you to output tool contact locations (wherever the cutter contacts the part) rather than a tool end location (center of cutter) for all cutting motions in an NC operation. &nbsp;The following figures illustrate various machining situations using 2D Contact Contour. &nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
      <p class="para_division">In Figure 2 below, the top picture shows the tool path output (in blue) using tool center point. &nbsp;The bottom picture shows the tool path output (in blue) using contact. &nbsp;The material remaining (in green) is on the inside.</p>

      <div class="title_division">Benefit of 2D Contact Contour Machining</div>
      <p class="para_division">Using contact points as the tool path gives the operator more tool options because he/she is not limited to one programmed tool size. &nbsp;This one tool path can accommodate different tool sizes that the NC operator can set at the controller without having to regenerate the tool path.</p>

                  <p class="para_note_body">Whenever you make use of undersized tools and no fixed diameter is available at the time of programming, use the largest nominal diameter of a cutter. &nbsp;When you run the program, the NC operator must provide the controller with the correct diameter of the cutter. </p>

      <div class="title_division">Using 2D Contact Contour Machining</div>
      <p class="para_division">In Milling, when you want to process a 2D Planar Profile operation, you must set the Cutter Compensation parameters. One of these parameters is 2D Contact Contour Machining. &nbsp;To use this option, follow the steps in the table below:</p>

               <p class="para_td">In the Operation dialog for Planar Profile, press the Machine button.</p>

               <p class="para_td">This invokes the Machine Control dialog.</p>

               <p class="para_td">Press the Cutter Compensation button.</p>
