      <p class="para_topic">The <b class="uiTerm">Contour Profile</b> <b class="uiTerm">Drive Method</b> requires a floor definition as well as wall geometry. If your part doesn't have floor geometry, use either the <b class="uiTerm">Follow Wall Bottom</b> or <b class="uiTerm"> Auxiliary Floor</b> options to position the cutter.

      <p class="para_topic">One way to visualize the wall bottom region is to display the wall (<b class="uiTerm">Geometry</b>&rarr; <b class="uiTerm">Wall</b>&rarr; <b class="uiTerm">Display</b>) from the main <b class="uiTerm">CONTOUR_PROFILE</b> menu. NX highlights the wall as well as the bottom region (or trace curve). The trace curve displays a diamond where the cutter will be placed to start cutting (A), an arrow to indicate the trace direction (B), and a triangle at the end of the trace (C).

      <p class="para_topic">Using the <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('mfgmilling/cont_prof_param.html#mfgmill_cont_prof_access_vector');return(false);"><b class="uiTerm">Access Vector</b></a> option affects the wall bottom region. The wall (B) in the figure below has a defined access vector (C). The bottom region trace curve ends at point (A), and doesn't provide enough coverage for the wall.

      <p class="para_topic">In the figure below, the bottom region trace for wall (B) is extended with a <b class="uiTerm">User Defined</b> <b class="uiTerm">Start of Cut</b> (A).

      <p class="para_topic">When you use <b class="uiTerm">Follow Wall Bottom</b> and <b class="uiTerm"> Auxiliary Floor</b> together, the tool path is placed on whatever geometry the tool encounters first. In the figure below, the generated tool path (B) follows the wall bottom except where the auxiliary floor (A) is above the wall bottom.
