      <p class="para_topic">In the following steps, you will create two Face Mill operations inside the STEP_FACE group. These operations will rough and finish the step face.</p>

      <div class="title_division">Rough the step face</div>
      <ul>

            <p class="para_item">Choose the Create Operation icon in the main menu. This will display the Create Operation dialog box.</p>
         </li>

            <p class="para_item">In the Create Operation dialog box, choose the FACE_MILLING button.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Choose one parent group from each view as illustrated below.</p>
         </li>
      </ul>

            <p class="para_item">Choose OK. This displays the Face Milling operation dialog box which enables you to define the remaining operation parameters. Because we did not specify a name for this operation, the system named it FACE_MILLING_1.</p>
         </li>
      </ul>
      <p class="para_division">Because this operation inherits the blank boundary defined in the STEP_FACE group, Face geometry does not need to be defined within the operation (the Face geometry is blanked). The operation uses the Blank boundary to define the Face geometry.</p>

            <p class="para_item">Specify the remaining operation parameters as illustrated below.</p>

            <p class="para_item">Choose Generate. Notice how the tool does not gouge the Part geometry defined in the WORKPIECE group.</p>

      <div class="title_division">Finish the step face</div>
      <p class="para_division">Because this operation is similar to the roughing operation, you can simply copy and paste the roughing operation, rename it, and change some of parameters so that it becomes a finishing operation.</p>

            <p class="para_item">In the Machine Method view of the Operation Navigator, highlight the FACE_MILLING_1 operation (do not double-click or you will open the operation).</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Choose MB3 &rarr;Copy.</p>
         </li>
      </ul>

            <p class="para_item">Highlight the MILL_FINISH group and choose MB3, Paste Inside. In this one step, you have both duplicated the operation and changed the machine method from rough to finish.</p>

            <p class="para_item">With the copied operation highlighted, click once on the operation name (FACE_MILLING_1_COPY) and key in the name: FACE_MILLING_2.</p>

            <p class="para_item">You will now need to change some parameters within the operation. Double-click on FACE_MILLING_2 to display the operation parameters dialog box. Specify the parameters as illustrated below.</p>
