      <p class="para_topic">These are step by step instructions to apply the template subtypes to the sample file:</p>
      <ol type="1" start="1">
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Go to the directory folder ../mach/samples and open the part file cam_holemaking_base_mm.prt or cam_holemaking_base_in.prt. These parts contain the same machining features (base features, and UDFs with additional information) as the machining features for which the machining feature template has been created.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">The setup for this sample part has already been completed. You can keep the current setup and skip to the  <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('mfgholemaking/ex_mach_temp.html');return(false);">Constructing Machining Feature Templates</a> section. Or you can delete the setup in the part and follow the steps below.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Enter the Manufacturing Module. </p>
            <p class="para_item">This presents the dialog for the selection of the setup template. This can be either a library setup template or the standard setup template. For the library setup template follow a below. For the standard setup template follow b below. </p>

                  <p class="para_item">For the library setup select cam_library from the CAM Session Configuration menu. </p>
               </li>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">This displays the Library Class Selection dialog. Choose Hole_Making from the following tree representation and Click OK.</p>

                  <p class="para_item">The Search Result dialog displays with two options:</p>
                  <ul>
                     <li>
                        <p class="para_item">012 Hole Making Inch </p>
                     </li>
                     <li>
                        <p class="para_item">112 Hole Making Metric</p>
                     </li>
                  </ul>
               </li>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">Select the option that matches the units of the part file you have selected. </p>
               </li>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">To enter CAM via the standard setup select hole_making from the CAM Session Configuration Menu and hole_making in the CAM Setup Menu. Then select the Initialize button. </p>
               </li>
            </ul>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">From the Resource Bar to the right choose the Operation Navigator. The Operation Navigator displays with the Program Order View selected. </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Pin the Operation Navigator. Change the view to the Geometry View and expand the contents in the view. The Geometry View contains the following tree representation.</p>

            <p class="para_item">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;NONE</p>

            <p class="para_item">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;WORKPIECE</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Double click WORKPIECE and select the solid body as the workpiece.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Open the MCS and make sure the Tool Axis option is set to All Axes. </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select the Create Geometry toolbar icon  <img align="bottom" src="graphics/ico_t_create_geometry.gif" border="0">.The  <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('mfgholemaking/mach_holem_subtyp_table.html');return(false);">hole_making template subtypes</a> are represented by twelve icons for feature identification.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select the SIMPLE_HOLE icon and set the parent group as WORKPIECE.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select Apply. </p>
            <ul>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">The Information Window displays and reports the activity that is taking place. </p>
               </li>
            </ul>
            <p class="para_item">The Information Window shows you how many features of the respective type were found and how many groups have been created according to the different diameters. </p>
            <ul>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">Then the system displays a dialog with the title Simple Hole. </p>
               </li>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">The Feature Type is SIMPLE_HOLE. </p>
               </li>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">The feature classification criteria are listed in the Classification Criteria field for feature grouping.</p>
               </li>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">The system groups the features according to the options that are checked in the Classification Criteria field. Since only the diameter is checked, the system groups the features according to the diameter only. </p>
               </li>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">Close the Information Window and click OK to exit the dialog.</p>
               </li>
            </ul>
            <p class="para_item">In the Operation Navigator you should now see six SIMPLE_HOLE geometry groups under the workpiece group. Each of these groups contain a set of operations and the selected tool for each operation.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">There are three ways to see what features have been identified in the Graphics Window.</p>
            <ul>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">Select a feature group and MB3 &rarr; Object &rarr; Display. </p>
               </li>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">Select a feature group and click the Display Object icon  <img align="bottom" src="graphics/ico_t_display_object.gif" border="0">.
                  </p>
               </li>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">Double click a feature group to directly access the feature group dialog. The features are highlighted in the Graphics Window.</p>
               </li>
            </ul>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">To create CS_HOLE feature groups, repeat steps 7-11.</p>
            <ul>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">Select CS_HOLE where the instructions say to select SIMPLE_HOLE. </p>
               </li>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">For the Classification Criteria in step 10, notice that hole diameter and c-sink angle are used instead of diameter. </p>
               </li>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">At the end of step 10 you see four CS_HOLE geometry groups under the workpiece group. Each of these groups contains a set of operations and the selected tool for each operation. </p>
               </li>
            </ul>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Change the view in the Operation Navigator to the Program View. All the operations have been created under the Program Group within their respective folders.</p>
         </li>
      </ol>
      <p class="para_topic">Expand all and optimize the operations using the following steps.</p>
      <ol type="1" start="1">
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select the SPOT_DRILL group and select MB3 &rarr; Object &rarr; Optimize. The OPTIMIZED_NC dialog displays giving you three choices.</p>
            <ul>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">Consolidate Tools</p>
               </li>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">Minimize Tool Changes</p>
               </li>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">Create Optimization Group</p>
               </li>
            </ul>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Make sure all three options are selected and click OK. </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">The system creates several OPTIMIZED_NC groups. Each group contains the tool path of the combined operations. All the operations within each new group use the same tool. The operations are also reordered to prevent redundant tool changes. &nbsp;</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Proceed the same way on the drill, countersink and debur groups leaving all options checked. The system again reorders the operations and creates optimization groups.</p>
         </li>
      </ol>
      <p class="para_topic">Generate the tool path now that all the optimizations are complete. Select the NC_PROGRAM group and click MB3&rarr;Generate. The tool paths are generated.</p>
